My suggestions:

 

Vanilla:

 

Enemy Race: Ork

Research Example: Stim Pack: Using the genes that makes Ork go berserk during combat, a special adrenalin stim pack is developed. Increase some units speed and strength.

 

Enemy Race: Imperial Guard

Research Example: Artificial Evolution(Abbhuman Genes): Using Abbhumans genes, some units get more health.

Research Example: Brainwarp (Psyker Genes): All Psyker units of the army (Libarian, ect) get increased energy limit and restores faster.

 

Enemy Race: Space Marines

Research Example: Projectile Weapons: All non-energy weapons of the army (normal, heavy and rocket's ) get increased damage and maximum range.

Research Example: Purified Geneseed: All spacemarine units of the army (Space Marines) get increased speed and strength.

 

Enemy Race: Chaos

Research Example: Holy Weapons: More anti-daemon weapons available for purchase. 

 

Enemy Race: Sisters of Battle

Research Example: Angelic Purity: Huge boost to units morale, 

Research Example: Hellfire: Upgrades all fire based weapons to do more damage to health and morale.

 

Enemy Race: Eldar

Research Example: Ancient Aura: All psyker units have increased power recharging.

 

Enemy Race: Dark Eldar

Research Example: Tainted SpiritAll leader unit's can now detect stealth units.

 

Enemy Race: Necron

Research Example: Unholy Energy: Decrease power required to buy all units that has an energy cost.

Research Example: Deus ex machina: All Vehicles gets more health and armour.

There is never profit in Dawn of War modding. This is just a pure labour of love!  :wub:  Unless your that GrumblingOrk. That guy is a CENSORED BY THE IMPERIAL COMMUNICATION CENTRE FOR EXTREME PROFANITY. :mad2:

The game needs the latest patch. That was what I build the exe on. Many mods also flat out refuse to work without the latest patch installed. Maybe ProcMon will make it work, but there is a risk something gets broken in the code if you do not have the latest patch installed.

 

You can hide the whole game by putting it in a zip file. Then install the game in a new location. Then install the patches up to the last one. Now unpack your game again, and then copy the whole newly installed version into the original and say yes to all overwrites. Now you have "patched your original game" without having to reinstall the all your mods and such.

Using the new EXE.. no CTDs at least and does not require CD/DVD (always welcome!) but will continue using it although not yet noticed anything different BUT will proceed to go with it as I test other projects! :good:

Same here on using the .exe's & on the no CTD. It does seem faster but could be placebo. As I had modified my exe's previously with CFF Explorer for LAA & load order before replacing them with the one's in this thread. Regardless I appreciate it & am glad it's working fine.

Now I just need to consider if I want to mess with music or load screens. Since resources have been provided. Then there's always art (Textures/Models/Etc.) & anything else you can modify without desynchronization to consider... ;)

But I digress. Thanks for the resources!

 

I will also try out this Thudo! It would be so cool if it works. :xcahik_: LETS TEST THIS! :toasting:

I hope to complete the Icons tomorrow by the way.  :good:

 

Industrial_Strenght: Here is a new loadscreen that set the mod for "Love and War" in Soulstorm. (A very nice Loadscreen, nothing pervy or rude).  Just unpack it where you have installed your game.

Are there any particular tools required to work with these files?

 

 

You need a few tools yes. For the both of them you can download this:

 

Texture tool 

 

It's super easy to use. You take the skins you want to edit, and open and close them with this tool. Long story short. This tool turns f.eks a wtp file to 5 image files, and back again.

 

Tutorials here.

 

​To get the wtp files, you either need to download one or take it from the game directly. The easiest way to do this is to use the Corsix mod tool, and go to the art files and right clik on the unit's wtp files and press make a copy.

 

To edit the files I recommend paint.net image editor. It's 10 times faster to use than the gimp tool. I also recommend downloading grim colour reaper for this as a very good addon.

 

To save the images in the correct format before turning them to wtp files, the best way is to use saint paint studio

 

May sound complicated, but is a quick process once you know how to do this. Have fun.  :thumbsupcool:

New mod brothers and sisters!

ix7A0dl.pngMy newest project to make the ultimate revival of the Dow, and to push it's graphics to the limit. I wanted a name that sort of had something to do with death and rebirth. The best name I could come up with was Phoenix Rising.

I am not very happy with that picture. I wanted to create a "Soulstorm Phoenix" but overdid it with the purple. Ah well. It's was good practice anyway. I will create something good for the UI later.

 

This is my big combiner mod to create the ultimate experience when playing. Here I combine all my "sexy" mods, and a ton of sweet addons to the Soulstorm game in general. You could call it a Second Unification mod. But that is not what this mod is. It's sort of me testing everything I want to suggest for Unification Mod later, and a way to create the best single player experiences possible in the campaign.

 

This one is created to test my mods to the max. I throw everything in here to see what sticks. The stuff that work will later be put into the official Unification "Addon" Expansion I will be working on when the Necron Dynasty mod is done. 

 

In other words. This is an attempt to bring Soulstorm Campaign closer to Dark Crusade standard. Make Dawn of war more modern (Reborn) with HD graphics's, art and all the other good stuff. Sort of trying to raise to quality of good old Dow.

 

What this mod does:

 

Mod gives you:

  • Ravenmorpheus Wargear Mod - All vanilla races has wargear now.
  • Ambient_fx_ss - Weather effects that affect gameplay. Rain, snow, wind ect.
  • Auto abilitys-soulstorm edition - All vanilla units use important abilities automatically when you use this.
  • Camera Zoom Mod - Better zooming for the game.
  • CAPTURE THE FLAG MOD - A fun wincondition that turns it into a capture the flag scenario with leaders. 
  • CornCobMan's Win Conditions - A ton of tweaks to skirmish mode. Play just like you want.
  • ShadowMod - Gives all vanilla units a shadow. How could relic forget to add this?
  • Fog Distance & Sky Radius - You no longer have to have problem seeing units far away. It just makes it longer, but don't reveal to much of the map.
  • SEARCH AND RESCUE MOD - A fun wincondition that turns it into a rescue the allies scenario with leaders.
  • Stealth_Cover_fix_for_Soulstorm - Strangely enough the maps in dow have a cover effect that relic could never make work, but some fan figured it out. Lucky for us. Now we just needs some maps with this. Gives units stealth when entering this zone.
  • Day and Night cycle. - Just turns on night with less line of sight, then restores everything during the day.

Campaign:

  • CampaignBases_v1.4 - During campaign the game remembers all the bases you make during skirmish, so you do not have to start from scratch again. Just like Dark Crusade.
  • Soulstorm Wargear mod. - Better wargear during campaign.
  • Soulstorm RPG mod for Official Campaign - This mod adds Heroes (experience/level-up) and Auto-Abilities mods to the official Soulstorm single-player campaign missions.
  • Soulstorm Random Objectives: By our own Brother fuggles. A master piece of imersion in the campaign. Finally Soulstorm feels like Dark Crusade! Adds:
  1. Random Win Conditions - This mod quite simply adds more variety to the bread and butter of the Soulstorm campaign by selecting a random win condition when you enter one of the current 'skirmish' territories - i.e those which are not a stronghold or take and hold.
    In addition when you are defending your stronghold you start with an established base and some defence in place. After 30 minutes you get a ton of reinforcements as the surrounding troops rush back to save their stronghold.
  2. Smack Talk: Diffrent Races will finally taunt each other like they did in god old Dark Crusade.

Other addons:

  • Hd Taskbar,ui, fx and new menu effects. - Nice and clean look for everything. Most made by me, but credits in the mod to all who also gave their work.

 

Mods added:

  • Mod.1 = Sync_Kill - Makes all units synch kill more. Makes the battlefield more "Alive".
  • Mod.2 = objective_points_SS - Newest version required.
  • Mod.3 = Sneaky - File required for stealth zones on maps. Also have some important files for PR mod.
  • Mod.4 = Grim - A Mod that makes battle corpses stay for 3 minutes. Stops tanks and others from sinking through the ground right after they die. Makes the game more Grim with more blood and gore effects.

 

All these are voluntary.

  • Mod.5 = NaughtyEldar - 
  • Mod.6 = Rainbow_Orcs -
  • Mod.7 = Sexy_Necron -
  • Mod.8 = SexySisters - 
  • Mod.9 = Witch_Hunters - The real one. Required for SexyWitchHunters mod.
  • Mod.10 = SexyWitchHunters - My addon. You can use Naughty_witchhunter instead if you wish. 
  • Mod.11 = DigitalGuard - In early alpha. Not released yet.
  • Mod.12 = Camo Tau - In early alpha. Not released yet.

Mandatory.

  • Mod.12 = dowai - newest version.
  • Mod.13 = Bugfix - newest Version.

Other Addons:

  • Mod.14 = DawnOnPlanets - My mappack.
  • Mod.15 = DawnOfMusic - My music pack.

Required:

  • Mod.16 = DXP2
  • Mod.17 = W40k
Will add a big Credit list later! Right now this is just for testing purposes!

Kind of reminds me of Norwegian runes. Except runes always was made with straight lines and no curves so it was easy to carve into things with a knife.

Great news everyone! I found a land raider Prometheus! That just leaves one more dream, which is being worked on... I'll show you what we've been working on when it's done.

 

All required unit models in game, so that's one baby step. Textures need repointing, FX and sounds adding, AE code doing.

I also have posted some 3d max models of different land raiders on my moddb. Maybe there is something useful there?

It is the Dawn of Music mod!  :thumbsupxd:

 

What you get:

  • New music! (well dhuu. Thank's captain obvious.....) 
  • New voices! originally deleted from the game by relic, or missing sound effects restored to the game.

  • Other sounds also added, or edited for better quality.

Naughty Eldar Mod!

New re-skinned Dark Eldar with tons of fun stuff to make everything look better. This is an early version,  so no new units yet.

 

What you get:

  • New FX, Icons, Effects and Taskbar.
  • New HD skins, with shiny effects where it fits.
  • New Glowing effects and smoke from buildings.
  • New animations.
  • More codex appearance without sacrificing TC

To be added later:
