Game freezes when I press log in

Trying to play BFME1 via t3a today.
The game freezes when I press log in and has to be closed via task manager.
Are the servers just down atm or might I have some other problem with my game?


Can you play BFME 1 unpatched?

Is it possible to play BFME 1 in a vanilla state?
While I understand that the patches make for a more balanced game and a better PvP experience, I just want to mess around vs the AI like back in the day.
When I try to unpatch with the patch switcher, the game won't launch. It says that I need to insert the correct disc. If I enter my physical disc it goes to a crash screen.
Is there any way to make this work?
