Editing Campaign missions for multiplayer

28 October 2014 - 09:44 AM

I wondered if it is possible to edit campaign missions for multiplayer use? The idea here is to re-invigorate the missions to make them more interesting once again for the community. The idea is quite simple in theory. Using the SDK Extras on CNCMODS.net in particular the extractor for .big files you can obtain the campaign maps and edit them in world builder. That's no problem, but does anyone have any idea how I can once again pack the maps into a .big file? I can't seem to find that out anywhere and since C&C Online Discussion is fairly active I thought I would post here to see if anyone has a solution...

My plan is simple to delete the restriction scripts in world builder to unlock all the technologies for the computer and for the player and let the single player/co-op campaign wreak havoc once again! The other thing I could do of course is simply edit the campaign maps so they would make good multiplayer skirmish maps...

If you can get Red Alert 3 Multiplayer working I will donate!

I have read the how to thread and tried the common solutions. I have tried everything. Unfortunately the new launchers seem to break my copy of RA3 from launching so I updated the game from Origin to revert back. I have tried forwarding the ports on my router as well, but I was actually successful in playing a game without the port forwarding active so I stopped that. I have the Ultimate C&C bundle from Origin. The problem I seem to be having is intermittent. I have failed to connect to matches 99% of the time. However I have played 2 matches both 1v1 which worked perfectly! Ok there was a message about the stats server not working but I couldn't really care less about that! For a while I was deep in RA3 multiplayer action! It was wonderful!

Red Alert 3 is my favourite game of all time, so I am extremely grateful to Revora for doing what they are doing. I read in another thread somewhere that it could be a NATNEG server issue. If that is the case, upon the Revora developers solving it, and provided the connection works for me on a regular basis... I would be willing to donate quite a considerable amount of money to say thank you for saving the multiplayer of my favourite game!

All the best
