I was getting the "registry corrupt" issue when trying to login and these regedit's fixed that for me.

Same. Steam version. GenTool says the version isn't supported.
Edit: this thread gives a registry edit to make. This seems to have worked for me. Drill down to the key, then right-click it and add a new key, name it `ergc` and change the (Default) value in this key to `0000-0000-0000-0000`. The keys are:
- Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Generals
- Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour
