In Topic: KW connect issue

15 February 2017 - 07:57 PM

I can't connect to other players when I play KW on cnc online ,but sometimes I can connect to someone and play games, then I can't connect to other players.I has tried the solutions but it didn't work.I has tried VPN but it didn't work, too. When I use the connection diagnostic tool,it shows: The connection to nntest.cnc-online.net timed out.

It is possible that the server is offline.
And I am sure the port 6667 is open.

Hey yhtq,

Sometimes firewalls/ Computer Security programs can block multiplayer. Zonealarm used to be a big problem for me.Try adding KanesWrath to your allowed/trusted list in your security program(s).

If that doesn't work, would you mind posting a list of programs you have installed? I will look over them to see if there's any installed that are known to cause problems with connecting.

To do this:

Run Windows Powershell and enter this command

Get-ItemProperty HKLM:\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\* | Select-Object DisplayName, DisplayVersion, Publisher, InstallDate | Format-Table –AutoSize

This will create a list of all your installed programs. Now Highlight all of the text in the Powershell window

(left click and hold -> drag cursor over the text) once all the text is highlighted press CTRL+C to copy the text. Now paste your list in a reply (CTRL+P to Paste). Just a warning, this will obviously allow us to see what programs are installed on your pc :p.

I remember there was a glitch in Generals that allowed you to spoof people's user names and send messages 'as them' in the lobby chat. Were you playing C&C Generals?

Obviously, they weren't sending messages from your account, it just looked like it.

In Topic: Red Alert fine, rising lagging, slow FPS

Firstly, this isn't a C&C:Online related problem...

I have tried Right clicking -> Run with GPU

Well this should be solution, but since it's not working for you...

Try to add manually RA3EP1_1.0.game (not RA3EP1.exe) in NVIDIA Control Panel (from the recently opened program list)

Some laptop may use automatically integrated graphics when using battery, so you may need to play with wires plugged in.

Thanks for the help, but no luck I'm afraid :(

Update:

Just got it running smoothly, I launched it from the 'Dragon Gaming Centre' App as last ditch attempt, added it to the 'instant play' menu and released all resources other than steam. Running very nicely now! I'm supprised that worked.

Thank you again for the help Viper.
