If you really did not crack it, I suspect your installation is corrupted. I suggest a full, clean reinstall.

Which only happens if you changed your game.dat...

So you got a cracked version or something is manipulating game.dat

The only thing I did was adding an options.ini file, since I got some weird ass error when I tried to launch the game. (exception access violation)

I keep getting error messages that say my version is different, I did it exactly as the instructions specified.

Did you crack your game?

No, but my friend did and he has no issues getting it to work. My game version also seems to change every time I launch, whilst his stays constant.
