Topics I've Started

What's Next?

28 February 2011 - 07:44 AM

I don't know why I'm here.
I don't know why I'm typing this.
I don't know why.
Years ago my cousin introduced me to Battle for Middle-earth. I was only in middle school. About maybe a year or two later I joined this group. Didn't do much; put my tidbits here and there. It's at this moment I realize that this is something I'll never forget. Why? Because I'm too damn sentimental. But let's all face it, life has hit us all. I'm pretty sure that most everybody who is and was a part of this group is older than me and off doing something with their lives. Hell, somebody might've died or gotten a drug addiction or went canoeing in Indonesia. I digress. In any case, this goes out to any of you fellow {IP} members who still look into the old man known as this clan. Personally I hardly know any of you. I have some of you on Xfire (doesn't do crap if you don't go online). We all saw this coming. The shut down of the servers was the coup de grace to pretty much everything we've known and loved about the one thing that we all shared for certain. Regardless of what the rules are, I'm almost certain that this is indeed the "end of our fellowship." No but in truth, I will miss all of you, even those I never got to meet. It's saddenning.
Even after all this typing, I still don't know why I continue this. Maybe you'll all just come back and laugh at my silly post. Just throwing this out there in that case, I guess. ;)

I'm going to miss a lot of things. But from what you leave behind you must also look at what is laid out in front of you.
So now I ask, "what's next?" :thumbsupsmiley:
Reaching up for no man's land, take a breath and take a chance, walk a thousand miles to change the world.

Other Projects

06 December 2010 - 05:52 AM

Hey what's been happening everyone? *ticktock ticktock cricket* Ye~ah we're somewhat sluggish around this forum. Well anyways, there are all these old maps that I have that I want to brutally slaughter because a lot of them are sooooo bad... no really! The only ones I'm proud of are my Battle of Five Armies and Old Forest maps... which I'm still trying to finish but midterms are coming up and can't do it 'till Christmas.

So, a long time ago, I made a poll for a fortress map. Goblin fortress won but I never got around to finishing it so I'm working on that too... a lot of projects that I don't necessarily have to do.

But as time passes on and I'm (not to be be so arrogant) royally kicking Aragorn94's arse in ROTWK, I discussed with him ,a few months ago, on some new map ideas. So I thought of this: An epic horse race! Yes that's right! A horse race where you bet resources and see who is the lucky one! But it's just an idea... now the problem comes with finding time for it and making the map, scripts, ini, etc. with everything else. So, I made this topic to ask you all this:

What's your thoughts? :p

The Old Forest

14 November 2010 - 10:40 PM

So how's everyone? *crickets* Yeah that's what I thought...
Well anyways, I've been working on a 3-player skirmish map for a while set in the Old Forest and so far only Aragorn94 has seen parts of it. I'd like to say I've gotten a lot better at mapping but I'll leave that up to you all when you see it.

In the meantime, high school has a lot of homework and I have other things to do so I'll see if I can get in some ingame shots (I might just go with WB). Now why did I post this? Not sure, just wanted to let you know I'm working on a forest map that hopefully you'll enjoy when it's finished. So here's what I'm thinking right now: The Old Forest is supposed to be dense (full of trees and therefore a lot of objects) so the main concern I have with this is lag. That might become more apparant when I post pictures. Also, I made an ini so most units can stealth... but nobody really likes skirmish maps with extensive inis so I might just make two versions. But either way, both will have Old Man Willow.

I guess that's enough for now. :)

Salutations to IP

Hello there.

In case you don't remember or don't know me, I was known as Link back when IP was Istari Productions and I was an amateur mapper when I first joined. During my first years I was immature and could hardly contribute anything worrthwhile and needless to say that eventually I ceased being active. Though during that time I have made some considerably better work that I believe some will enjoy more than my previous maps. However, I don't believe I can be an active member at this time, especially during Junior year of high school and therefore this is more of an introduction rather than a request to rejoin.
