Did I get banned or something?

Best Answer Howl, 04 March 2015 - 06:18 PM

Odd, it works perfectly now. Perhaps my campus wifi was acting up.

I was playing coop with a buddy on RA3 and my laptop overheated. After rebooting and trying to log in again, I get an error: "Failed to connect to servers, please check to make sure you have an active internet connection" and I do.

No, you're not banned. I don't see you showing in the log since 3am GMT this morning though. Please could you post your error log and we'll see if there is a problem there. It does look like some kind of connection problem, if you're not showing in the log at all and that could be caused by your game not patching properly.

Good result anyway.

However, instead of starting a new thread, I'll mention it here: I can't play Generals online, it produces the error message "Could not connect to Generals Online" when trying to log in. What should I do to produce logs for this? Zero Hour works perfectly, but Generals and Kane's Wrath will not. (With KW, I get connection issues in a lobby when trying to connect to players)

The log shows that your game is patching properly, so I would guess that the problem you are having is caused by your internet connection or your Windows set up (particularly as it works intermittently).

I suggest that you check that the IP address shown in Settings->Network is an address on your network that you normally use to connect to the internet (or is not set at all) in RA3.    Using Hamachi can cause that address to be changed and cause problems.    I also suggest that you remove any Hamachi drivers, particularly if you are not using them.

I am not using Hamachi, however as of this morning (9:07am GMT -5) I am able to log in without errors. This leads me to believe that the error comes up during heavy traffic with my campus wifi and thus can only be solved by discussing things with the IT department here.

However, this does not resolve the C&C Generals error.
