Hey,

Don't get me wrong in my post, I absolutely love y'all for keeping the servers alive to my favorite PC game of all time.

In fact I love it so much, I want to know what it would take to make the servers faster and more reliable.

Sometimes the servers just kick people offline randomly, other times there is intense lag in the lobby when trying to host/join games, and selecting appropriate characters.

So I'm wondering, is it possible to upgrade to faster servers, and/or make the servers more reliable?  Would it be possible to start some sort of fundraiser initiative to get even the depraved souls who play this game to put in more money?

Basically, what would it take?

As you may be aware of, these servers are fueled by dedicated fans and donations.  And it's tough not having the resources that many others have.  I don't know the technical shizzel-wizzel, so I'm not entirely sure how simply having more money will upgrade our servers.  But I'm sure Revora's wisest (Toxic / Phil) might have answers.  What I'm not sure of is if you're offering to throw money at the servers, or just suggesting some sort of fund raiser stuff.  Regardless, it's still interesting to know what we can do to improve the servers in the future, with extra funding or not.

Ive heard down the grapevine that a new server was purchased and will be implemented soon. Not sure if this is true though....

Donations are always welcome: http://cnc-online.net/

We do 'donation drives' every so often, trying to get people to donate. The problems you describe might not be due to server sluggishness, though. That could very well be due to some of the more outdated GameSpy code Phil's had to make use of. This should get improved further over time.

How much money would Phil need to do a 24 hour coding marathon :D
