I find it awkward to deal with. It's such a CPU-greedy bitch.
(Though it does produce phenomenal results, I concede. I think I just like each VST seperate.)
Strange. when it comes to large patches, KONTAKT has one of the best CPU management algorithms out there. Compare it to something like PLAY and you will understand.
However there are many things that could create CPU hogs, better look into various host and KONTAKT settings.
You may (actually should) want to open one instance of KONTAKT and send out as many MIDI channels as you can. I usually use around 10 MIDI channels per instance since more than that proved to make things unstable for me. That will significantly reduce CPU consumption.
KONTAKT like any other plugin can't produce any result unless you know how to use it properly, as well as the library that you're using inside.
