So i just bought Red alert 3 and wanted too play online , But every host kicks me cause it says " Connection error" they say. Im not sure why. I did the %appdata% and deleted the file , I found a guide here on the forum and did that it said but i still cannot play online. I got norton antivirus , And i enabled/trusted c&c online and red alert 3 etc in the firewall. And Like i said , i bought it through origin , Does that have anything too do with it ? Anyone got some ideas ? I should be able too play because i enabled everything so i can connect , But obviously i can't :(

  • Origin makes no difference
  • Definitely do not start opening ports when the guide says not to
  • If you can host games and connect, that means it works on a technical level. Try disabling Norton and see if it makes a difference.

How many people have you tried playing games with that you didn't host? Were they the same people it worked with when you hosted a game?

Sometimes it's not you, but the others...

I've tried alot of different lobbies now , and there is always 6 players in those. Everyone can connect to eachother through different countries etc,  except for me. I even tried to uninstall norton antivirus now and rebooted my PC, Still didn't work. Is there any special kind of port or something i need to open or what is the problem ? :( I uninstalled Norton and disabled windows firewall, still no connection.

I've seen you today in Red Alert 3, I was in that 5 players FFA room...

Yes, the host of that rooms told that your connection fails with him, but he says that except him, you can connect with everyone else (me too) in that room.

I'm not sure if that's true, because that would be strange, since if that's true you would connect with nearly everyone, but, you said in this thread that you have connection problem in every room :/

Oh okey , didn't see that. But yea , I tried so many different lobbies and with alot of different players and it's always failing , Maybe it has something too do with the host but nothing works at all , which is boring. I just wanna play online ...

Should i turn UPnP off on my router ? Anyone got any ideas ? Any ports ? Any router settings i need too change ?

And also , My ip on settings > network on red alert 3 is 192.168.x.x , But if i go too whatsmyip.org my ip is : 81.233.xxx.xxx , Which IP should be on my red alert 3 settings ? I only got 1 option and that's the 192.168.x.x IP , But should i change it too 81.233.xxx.xxx somehow ?
