Hello. You guys know your way around computers. =D

I'm considering this product. Cheap, and with better specifications than other laptops at a similar price. Australian dollars are going to be an issue when comparing prices.

This is the computer I am quite ready to buy. It seems fantastic for it's price.

It looks solid to me. I don't have a comparison because I don't know the conversion to Australian dollars. But it's an i7, upgradable to 16gb of RAM, basic but decent graphics card for very light gaming but not much more than that.

AUD $1000 is about USD $710.

The laptop is nice, the NVIDIA 940M 2GB is pretty good but as Kewn stated not for HQ gaming.

I'm not sure about the manufacter tho. Never heard of him.

hard drive: 451 GB
processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6600 @ 2.2GHz
installed memory: 4GB
graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4300 Series

Yes that will be a wonderful upgrade. Going from a Core 2 Duo to an i7 will be night and day. Also the GT 940 kicks the ever living crap out of a HD 4300. :)

The only problem I see is the 5400RPM Hard Drive. It's 1TB, but pretty slow for today's standards. Maybe consider an SSD option and buy a cheap external hard disk for (slow) mass storage.

Thanks for that Phil.

I wonder how easy it would be to swap out? I know a combination of SSD and a hard drive inside is the best option, but could I upgrade the hard drive to something faster if I find that it will fit?

How much will a slower hard drive speed decrease performance?

Uses of this laptop:
* I use the Adobe CC stuff for Graphic Design. Current computer barely runs these programs as fast as the Macs at college.
* BfMe series modding of course =p I know for a fact that Worldbuilder is going to run better
* no brand spanking new games, Indie games, classics and LEGO games interest me more
* Blender, or an expensive modelling program like Maya/ZBrush/3ds Max

You'll find limited storage options for laptops around that price point. If you can find one with an SSD, then of course that's a better option.

I'm going to assume that the SATA port on my new laptop can do stuff?

Also, I traced back my initial purchases from Kogan and found that it was a Revora ad that brought me to their website in the first place. =D I have Revora to thank for my newest baby laptop. ;D
