When i launch C&C3 TW from within C&C:Online. It opens the game and i see the EA icon, but then it ask for a DVD to be inserted. I don't have a DVD because my version is from the ultimate collection, which is purely digital.

 

There is a funny twist here, i can easily launch the KW game and also log on to your servers, i have been in the lobbies seeing other players. 

 

I have noticed one thing, that was strange, when i installed the CNC3_patch 1.09, the patcher said the following:

"Patch Error. Existing game files may have been modified. You should re-install the game the CD/DVD"

 

I don't have CD or DVD, since the ultimate collection is purely digital.

 

I'm using Windows 10 pro.

 

I first installed the C&C Online launcher, then i installed the Ultimate Collection launcher fix and last i installed the patch 1.09. All of the installations was made with "Run as administrator" except the C&C Online launcher because i didn't have the option to do so.

 

I have read the topics on your forum, but could not find a similar problem, which is why i made this post.

 

If you need more information on this problem please tell me.

I don't have the ultimate edition and i don't know neither what replace the launcher fix but from your say, i have the feel you updated your game with the original non ultimate update (tw 1.9), since you don't say anything for kane wrath and that it work good, i suspect your update to be a wrong one that replaced some important file from the digital version to the dvd version. How did you updated your game? Origin version should get up to date itself without any user interaction.

 

It may not be important in that case but it's better to update first if required then only apply the launcher fix (the update may replace some file that the launcher fix may have already replaced per example)

 

Again, i'm not familiar with the ultimate collection, i may be all wrong

You shouldn't have attempted to patch an Origin version of the game (it comes already patched to the latest version). Hopefully that has not corrupted the game but if it has you might be best reinstalling it.

In order to run the launcher as administrator in Windows 10, I believe that you will have to hold down shift when you right click the launcher icon to get that option. If you do that, you might be better to hit "properties" and check the "run as administrator" check box on the "compatibility" tab. You might also try running with Windows 7 or even Windows XP compatibility.

Thanks. It works now. I think my problem was, that i installed the patch 1.09 on the Origin version. I did the following to make it work:

1. Repair the game from Origin(Their have that option to verify the files in the game)

2. Uninstall the C&C online launcher, then install it again(With compatibility mode on)

3. Install Ultimate Collection launcher fix (run as administrator)

 

Note:

For some reason in the compatibility tab, the "Run this program as an administrator" was grayed out and in the compatibility mode it said "Previous version of Windows", strange that i couldn't select a specific version of windows.

 

I really think my problem was with the patch 1.09.

I forgot to say one think.

I run the C&C online launcher program as a administrator and it makes a difference, because when i don't run as a administrator, it will say "Unable to launch <game name>", when i try to launch a game.

 

So run C&C online launcher program as a administrator
