Installed command and conquer generals along with zero hours from my original  disk(s) (normal edition) and it doesn't do anything when i try to run the launcher exe file.

Did everything for running (running as administrator, xp pack 3, etc. couldn't find kb3086255, don't have it?).

 

Can someone help me plz?

Tried using a no cd crack, now it actually started... only for a "technical difficulties" window to pop up during the start up. (using windows 10)

The first part of your problem is easy:

You shouldn't use the C&C:Online launcher to launch Generals or Zero Hour. If you are playing only those games, you should unhook and uninstall the C&C:Online launcher and install GenTool. When you have done that, you just launch the game from its ordinary shortcut.

The second part is more of a problem. I encountered the same problem after I upgraded to Windows 10 and I have not had time to look for (let alone find) the answer. I made some changes to the game ini file, but that is as far as I went.

I invite anyone that knows the answer to this to come forward. Personally, I was using the Ultimate Collection. I've reinstalled since the Windows upgrade (which has fixed many Win 10 upgrade problems) to no avail.

I invite anyone that might know the answer to this to chip in.

Found the solution from 

Apparently you needed to download the file "options.ini" and copy paste it into documents > Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data

After that the game succesfully starts.
