I am not sure if others have this problem, but if others do I hope this topic can lead to a solution.

Anyway, I am wanting to play online on CNC 3 KW. I am using the ultimate collection on origin and I can log into the game and in the online lobby just fine. I can also join any game, but when I do join and wait for it to start I either get kicked automatically or by the host because I have very bad to no connection. I don't have any problems with connection in any other games. This is persistent at all times with anybody. The host also cant start the game because of the connection. I have windows 10 operating system.

I have the alternate launchers installed and put CNC online in my firewall exceptions, but neither worked.

Error log file

Would you recommend setting up a DMZ or port forwarding for my situation? I haven't tried that yet and I'll have to look up how to do it. Thanks

Let's have a look at the results of your connection test before we decide that. Please could you run the test and post the result in here. See How to Report Issues for instructions.

Essentially my connection to other players is shown as a red crossed out circle.

It looks like your internet provider and router should support these services. You've been able to connect to other players before, I think? I say that because you made a support topic last summer? Do you think the problem was caused by a Windows update?

Anyway, please make sure that you have an exception for Kane's Wrath in Windows Firewall. Sometimes, the exception can be removed for no apparent reason. The easiest way to make the exception again is usually to remove the program and reinstall it.

It may just be a quality of service issue, so check that you do not have mains electrical cabling running near the lines coming from the street to your router.

No, I have never been able to connect to other players. Those last posts were regarding getting into command and conquer online, but once those were solved and I got on I found that no matter who I play with, my connection to other players was presented as a red Cross out sign. With or without a windows update, I have always had these problems regardless. I can join games and what not but the host can't start them and EVERYONE has no connection to me. My service has always been good and I've never had online problems for other games. Right now I am on my phone so I will reach out to you when I check the firewall is there. Do I add KW itself to firewall, or just cnc online? Or both? I added cnc online to firewall last time so I might have to add KW too.

The exception should be for Kane's Wrath. I strongly suggest that you add that by reinstalling the game (it will be added automatically when you do that).

Since CNC 3 and CNC 3 KW are treated as one program because they came "together" in the ultimate 17 collection, that would uninstall both technically, correct? Also, would I have to reinstall the fixed launchers and what not as well?

You should be able to uninstall KW without uninstalling TW (I am not sure, I have never tried). They should each have their own firewall exceptions (despite the fact that they come packaged together) though. You will have it install the fixed launchers again afterwards.

Uninstalled, reinstalled the game and the fixed launchers, still have failed connection with other players. Try a port forward or?

I'll take a look when I'm at home, but I believe Origin supports an option where you can uninstall DLC or expansions by right clicking the game and check game-properties.

Would you recommend setting up a DMZ or port forwarding for my situation? I haven't tried that yet and I'll have to look up how to do it. Thanks

Well, allow me to share you my experience back in the times with my troublesome router.

I used to own a D-link router, and had many connection troubles aswell on TW/KW, 95 % of the times I could not establish a connection to the other players.

I've then tried to manually setup a static IP, and change my router configuration to static instead of dynamic IP and forward required ports. That worked better for a while.

Later on the problem came back, by desperation I've enabled DMZ mode. (which many people discourage to do so, due to security reasons). But personally I've never occurred any problems with it, and made sure I had a decent security setup.

It worked like a charm and could connect without any problems.

What you should try out:

 - Setup a static IP and forward required ports for KW.

 - Go into your router settings and try turning DMZ mode on to see if you can make connection then, then turn it back off and come inform me on here about the results.

If you need clarification or a detailed walkthrough, I'm willing to help out. (also mention what router you use if you need help).

Thanks.

Hi D4rKz. It's true, DMZ is much easier to set up than portforwarding everything separately, as Kane's Wrath can use a huge range of ports. It's the best solution unless there are other people playing from your internet connection.

Yeah, you're right ofcourse, it's basically flipping on a switch to enable it, many folks already get nervous when you try to explain a proper port forwarding.

It does pose some risks though, people should be aware to check their security software aswell.

Now let's hope he can figure it out.

Thanks.

Yeah I would like a walk through on port forwarding my router, that would be really nice. My router is a

Apple AirPort 3TB USB/Wan Port/Lan Port Time Capsule (ME182LL/A). The newest version.

Yes I am using windows 10 and yes that is an apple router.

I'm afraid that you'll have to figure out how to work out how to set the DMZ on that yourself (try googling it). You may need to set a static IP address on the network card on your computer (one would hope not, but it is a possibility). Are you able to access the router controls to set the DMZ?

Hello fellas.

AS you might know, i have the same problem, since i'm writing in this thread but... I've tried literally everything every thread and topic has to offer me, yet no succes on anything (otherwise i wouldn't write this now). I've portforwarded everything neccessary, written the "16000" number in the in-game port and on my router, made sure that it's the correct IP adress it's porforwarding and everything, yet i still have a bad connection (atleast that's what C&C: 3 Kane's Wrath claims. My internet connection in general and other games, is just fine, it's only C&C that has the problem.

What have i done so far?

Portforwarding my router.

Made sure i use the same IP address as i portofrwarded on my router.

Written the same port number in-game as i've done it on my router.

Hooked and unhooked the game several times, restartet my origin completely everytime i hooked and unhooked the game.

Running almost everything i can as an Administrator

repaired my C&C 3: Kane's Wrath.

And what goes for the .bat file, that's suppose to test connection? Same result as the user "Water_Is_Wet"

What else can i do?

My internet test:
