Port 6667 blocked by ISP - Use alternate port?

port

Best Answer Anime4000, 04 June 2018 - 10:09 AM

Not sure if there’s anything that can be done to be honest.
I’ve checked google, some other people posted the exact same issue about port 6667 being blocked in Malaysia for “safety” reasons.
Only your ISP can unblock it, port forwarding won’t do any good since they force the blockade.
It seems to be an issue for years in your country.

Unless ToxicShock has ideas to get around this blockade?
The only way I think is using an VPN server near your location to reduce latency.

Since I still using ADSL Broadband (DL:8mbps UP:512kbps) latency not that good, using VPN make things worst.

Another workaround, working: 3v3, chat, invite... (co-op not yet), using Proxifier software.

There are some Public SOCKS Proxy that work with port 6667

Public proxy server. You can find public proxy via Google, better get a SOCKS proxy since it able to tunnel UDP just in case, always use "Check" button to test connection.

Proxification Rules. Move port 6667 to SOCKS proxy, make sure "Default" rule name use "Direct" action. You wont let random pick proxy able to see your activity.

Test if proxy server allow 6667. Then, Connection is established.

I hope ToxicShock make an update that use alternate port

NOTE:
You can use any free proxy program like WideCap. Proxifier is paid version.

EDIT:
Add some information.

Hello everyone,

I having trouble to login Red Alert 3,

Upon checking TCPView, port 6667 stuck at SYN_SENT, I contact my ISP state that, entire nation and all ISP blocking port 6667, I live in Malaysia.

It is possible revora to change or redirect port 6667 to another port like 27015 etc... ?

Ah... The infamous IRC port blockade.

You could try a VPN to see if that's able to bypass the IRC port blockade.

Should be able to find a few free VPNs through google, hopefully that'll solve the issue.

Yes, I tried VPN, but it make game unplayable, host cannot start the match.

However, I tried to redirect port 6667 to SSH Tunnel SOCKS5 proxy using Proxifier. but, it cost a VPS server...

If you can make port redirect for 6667? it help so much...

if you can create alternate port for 6667 to any, maybe we can try connect using "portproxy" like this?

netsh interface portproxy add v4tov4 listenport=6667 listenaddress=185.17.144.132 connectport=4380 connectaddress=DIFF ADDRESS

Nice find, I'll make a note of this in case it's ever needed for others facing the same issue with port 6667(IRC/Chat port).

I'll give it a nice pin, you never know if someone else might have the same issue in the future so they don't have to search through the whole forum for answers.

Thanks!

One more thing... Red Alert 3 use port 6667 only for chat room right?

I notice running 2 Red Alert 3 in same house (router/modem) cause connection conflict and only one player able to play. I wonder if everyone use same "6667 proxy", no conflict?

So far I know 6667 is only used for chat functionality, aka IRC(Internet Relay Chat).

Correct, you can play online with only 1 computer on the same network/External IP. The other will not be able to connect, unless a VPN is used on the other system.

The reason behind that is because the same External IP is used causing connectivity issues, a VPN changes that External IP number to something else only for the computer that uses the VPN connection.

After that, the other computer should be able to play on C&C: Online perfectly fine, unless the connection between you and the VPN is unstable.
