How big, and how feasible is it to make a file which contains everything for unification - freeui, unification and all race mods?

First of all use 7zip it has best compression ratio if set to "Ultra".

Hmm.... and it would be best to have it all SGAed, so that to be easier to handle on the drive, and get less room.

That is why I suggested the SGA approach. It may be a HUGE file, but it will be compressed, and only one.

As opposed to SCORES of smaller files, giving the system and the drive some hard times...

Still there will be some issues with incoming patches for everything after some time, but I think the SGA of certain public versions is desirable.

Just thinking - I'm trying to steer people to unification, but then you have to go to a dozen websites. Is the mod race guide on the unification page and if not, can it be added?

I should update that with fists and children... That sounds wrong

What do you mean by that?

Those mods, especially the Children are still in private beta and only.

In the future, whatever you wish to do with the EC,always ask me and mdcertainty first. There is a reason for the ''Private Beta''.If I see my work used or uploaded without my permission, forget me.I hope I have made myself clear.

Dammit, Unification's installation is NOT user-friendly. That is true :sad2:

I see.But the children are not ready yet. When I feel they are clear for a more public showcase,I shall create a Modb page myself and let you know.

I request that you make nothing for the Children just yet in Modb.

Yeah on the best 7zip can compress you can zip up monumental amounts of faction AND balance mods and it comes out to between 3-5GB... that is it.. I do this for archival purposes over the years so I can go back just in case.

That would seriously make life easier if we can offer a final version with all our work in one zip.

I agree. On the next Unification release, I will also try to make that.

Just, please remind it to me, there are SO MANY THINGS ON MY MIND!

No need to include ALL races of course, only those that are roughly finished (>90% progress).

Yeah not hard for me.. I usually 7zip UA or FoK in mass quantities so faction mods are nothing to me. :evgr:

Again, I think we must also SGA the final ALL-IN Unification project.

...Because players may also have DA or WH or whatever mod already, and may NOT want to delete it.

So he will have duplicates of files in the "ALL-IN Unification".

In SGA formal, his HD will also be neat.

Will there be a "final" version? I doubt it. Call it a Long Term Support or something like that.

How often are new releases or patches for each race mod made?

Indeed (on both)!

How often are new releases or patches for each race mod made?

I CONSTANTLY update the races that I am responsible for the AE (Chaos Daemons, Tyr Swarm, IDH, Harleys, TSons, etc).

But the public releases are much fewer, so there will be no problem...
