[Red Alert 3] Co-Op Issue

Best Answer ToxicShock, 03 December 2018 - 07:35 AM

That is a known issue (and always has been) with RA3 Co-op when both players are using the same internet connection. You need to trick one of the games into thinking it has a different external IP address to the other game by one of you (not both) using a VPN. You should be able to find a free VPN easily but some are better than others so you might have to try a few. Google for one in your local area.

We have been recommending Windscribe as a free VPN and generally speaking people have had a lot of success with that. You get 10GB per month for free if you provide an email address and that should be enough for your playing needs.

Also see this post for some more options.

OS: Windows 10 64-bit

I have the Ultimate Collection(we both have) on Origin and I'm trying to play co-op with a friend , we are on the same router in the same house, no port forwarding or DMZ needed.

We can log in to the server but when we try to connect to each other's game, the same error message appears in-game chat:

"Connections are in progress, or connection problem detected. Please wait for the connection to finish, or kick the player who has the connection problem.

Connection in progress:

1-2"

I'ved tried VPN Server Windscribe - 10 Gb (only one of the 2 players use VPN)

But...same thing:

"Connections are in progress, or connection problem detected. Please wait for the connection to finish, or kick the player who has the connection problem.

Connection in progress:

1-2"

And then...

"Connections are in progress, or connection problem detected. Please wait for the connection to finish, or kick the player who has the connection problem.

Connection failed:

1-2"

NAT negotiation works with your router and connection.
==> You do not have to use port forwarding.

It is a port thing, or something else?!?

It should work just fine...

Waiting for a response. :)

Best regards,

Alex

/SOLVED GG WP

1. Ultimate Collection (both users)

2. Origin (both users)

3. DMZ in-game IP adress (in-house router, only VPN user)

4. VPN Server Windscribe - 10 Gb (only one of the 2 players must use VPN)
