Does anyone know how to disable mission introduction videos in BEL? Is there a .cfg variable? TIA

Somewhere on one of these fora a "Commandos-BacklashLeak" has been posted by our dearest SirRH. It has dummy videos for intro, outro and everything-in-betweentro's.

Or I can get you the dummy vids.

 

@Trump/Putin/Herbert : I thought these would be on the CHQ site, maybe it can be arranged to have them there?

To disable the intro video that show before you see the main menu, open \DATOS\MISIONES\START.DAT with a text editor. Now put a # before the VIDEO and FADEOUT lines, like this:

.INTRODUCCION [
#   [ VIDEO    [ .MPG  H_INTRO.AVI  ] ]
#   [ FADEOUT [ ] ]
   ]

To remove the videos that are shown before some briefings, open the corresponding BRIE00xx.SCR file with a text editor.

For example, open BRIE0001.SCR and BRIE0002.SCR and compare the two files. You'll notice that you'll have to remove (or disable the lines by adding a * in front of it) those lines:

0 STARTVIDEO #H_NORU.AVI
0 WAITVIDEO
0 BREAK
0 STARTFADEOUT
0 WAITFADE
