Hi

 

I am trying to get Red Alert 3 running in Ubuntu using lutris as a launcher,

 

When I use the launcher with RA3 V 1.0 retail, it finds game.dat no problem but I get the CA Patching Error.

When I Update the to RA3 V1.12 the launcher cannot find the game.dat

 I am able to use the launcher in the same environment with CnC3 Tiberium wars and it hooks no problem..

Any help would be greatly appreciated , have been banging my head against the wall on this for a few weeks now.

Is your installation of Red Alert 3 a disk copy?

Yes for the results i have submited it is a disk copy installed via iso format, i also have a steam copy which gives same results (as in game.dat not found) but i have not posted that info, as i wanted to keep things simple.

For the steam copy i should note that i have tried both, running through proton, and running steam through native wine with same enviroment settings as lutris, both produce same results, although in all cases i can run actuall red alert 3 no problem , it just seems to be (i hope) a small issue with the launcher

Any ideas on this ?? , or is it a lost cause ??

ok sorry i took a while, firstly just to make sure that we arent missing a very simple thing, hook the game in cnc online then close cnc online and run the game from steam, if that then doesnt work giving a CA, application error or just not launching the game with cnc online private message me the link to your revora account and we will go from there (by that i mean ill hook you up with the experimental thing)
