It's been so many years since I've been on this site, and I'm ecstatic to learn there's an art forum here. So for my first artistic contribution here's something recent I did; a territorial dispute between and Isengard Warg and a Venatosaurus from Skull Island.

For the past year I've been brainstorming some redesigns for the mumakil/oliphaunts, making them look more like real elephants than we got in the films. So in this case I toyed with the idea there being more than one species so I thought of basing them off asian and african bush elephants. Which one of these looks better in your opinion?

An old colored piece I did of some tolkien-esque orcs loosely based off the uruk-hai. I opted for a more Greco-Roman/Medieval English mix influenced armor

Concept for a Rhudaur horseman. Not sure how likely it would’ve been for the hill-men of Rhudaur to have any horse riders in their army during the Witch-King’s campaign in Angmar, but there could’ve been some at least. Otherwise any horsemen Angmar’s army must’ve had, if any would’ve been of Black Numenorean stock (or “Dark Dunedain”) Or of course, just orcs on wargs/wolves may’ve been enough.

Still fun to speculate, and maybe conceptualize into a visual medium
