Most rpgs play well on 56k, so I am sure WoW can...It mainly slows down when you get to area's like spawn points and big cities. But upgrading you're net would make it a bit more fun to play.
WoW is a MMORPG...World of Warcraft.

Well, CS lags sometimes over here (ISDN 64kbps), but it might be possible.

I lag on just about every game i play... strategy games run more smoothly, but i mask my ping in css, so that i don't get kicked for high ping.

Oh, stupid me, should have known what WoW was.
I think WoW could run a bit slow on 56k, there are to many models
to handle at the same time. 56k is about 3kb of data. And 1 model (moving models)
represent about 0.2kb. All the data does is to locate the position of the
model, and place it one the right place. And it consist of is text, numbers.

the_kid, how does the ping masking work? Might be useful for 56k-ers getting banned for getting pings over 100 (I mean, wtf?). And as a true socialist I must prevent that practice.

use the console command:
cl_cmdrateits default is 30... and that will show your actual ping. I usually set mine to about 3 or 4 or 5... and it will mask your ping to something between 80 and 150, although i don't recommend putting it lower because if you set it to 1 for example it will put your ping at 5... and people get mighty suspicous when someone has a ping of 5 all the time. although, it won't bypass a servers ping check, as it only masks it not changes it. so if the server has a autoping kick after 200, then there is nothing you can do about it... hope this is helpful.

By the way, Counter-Strike have a max of 16 models in player models when you play online and offline, that make you aviable to play with 56k almost perfect.
Masking ping is a nice thing to do if you have 56k, I did it when playing CS on 64k. No auto kick on 200 ping!
