As for the patch... the dl has probably been interupted. I suggest dl-ing it again.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Andre 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

1. Which patch did you try to install?
2. Did you install the 1.001 patch for YR?

If you want to play CR without patching YR to 1.001 you'll need to manually rename all the mix files with md in it.
But they're no reason you cannot patch YR unless you've got a hacked version.

when i don't patch YR
You need to patch YR man. If you can't because of that error message it means you must have edited files in your RA2 folder... which means it must not be a clean install.

the files indeed have md after them, so to what do i have to change them?

euhm, yeah, i dl it

Shame on you for dl-ing it. Besides it not needed. RA2/YR is an older game so you can buy it for 5-10 Dollar/Euro.
Anyway for the renaming, it just occured to me that that won't work since all the ini's in the mix files would still have the md.
You'd have to extract all the ini's from the mix file and rename them and i think that's a bit much considering you already asked how to rename.

Neither one of these had the game. So i wanted (read: had) to buy the game directly from the EA store, but when i try to bill it, it says: choose country: US, Canady or Mexico. But I am from Belgium...
So now i (have to) ask again: is there any way i can get the game and install the code red mod properly???
