I have played and owned Fable but I never played Star Wars: Kinghts of the old Republic 1 or 2. But I like to know what you guys think of them both. Is it like Fable with Star Wars threme or not? Can I continue play after I beat the game like Fable? Would Star Wars: KOTOR be a good buy(yes I am a Star Wars Fan, who isn't :p )?

I played a bit of KOTOR. From what I can tell it's more turn-based than Fable, but not completely. In Fable, everything is 100% real-time. In KOTOR, you attack, pause, attack automatically, you can pause and map out commands, and whether or not a blow lands depends on your stats.

KOTOR is an absolutely brilliant RPG. The combat is a bit annoying at first with turn-basedness, but it does grow on you. The storyline's brilliant and the number of things you can do in one game is amazing. It has shitloads of replay value. I'm going to complete Dark Side then do KOTOR2...or I might do 2 then come back to it.

KotOR definately has a lot more to it then Fable.
The story of Fable was so short and less cool.
I've had played both and from those I'd definately recommend you KotOR.

Lurking moar since 2004 2003!

The only problem I had with KotOR was the whole 'can't play after beat game' thing.

The combat system... meh, you get used to it. A little annoying at first, but mostly a minor inconvenience. Other than that, I suggest both of them. KotOR II has more features, but to fully get the story play I first.

I havent played Star Wars:KOTOR but i hear its crap (sorry) and i like Fable:The Lost Chapters apart from it being once you make the choice at the very end with that mask i wish they had a Free Play after it then it would be interesting more hehe! but i am sure tat would of been like too crazy for them to handle haha but i think i would pefer Fable as its really adictive espeically resisting the uruge to play it while exams are on hehe

SW:KOTOR is only crap if you don't like RPGs and you don't like Star Wars. It actually happens to be one of the best games I've ever played. It has a similar vein to Fable (which I'm in the process of starting), with the choices. However, Fable has much more in the way of social development (marriage, buying a house etc) while KOTOR allows you to play through the story, and wheel and deal a bit with the people you meet along the way. There are still loads of ways to approach each thing, though.

If you don't like Star Wars, it doesn't matter with KOTOR since it's set 4000 years before the movieverse. It's just a war like any other, except with a few Jedi. Just like Final Fantasy 8 is a war between Galbadia and everyone else, with SeeD being the 'Jedi', or FF9 is a war between Alexandria and the rest of the world. It's really irrelevant that you're a Jedi, except it gives you the advantage all RPG heroes have: the ability to do superhuman shit ^_^

I do agree with Ash but I do wish KOTOR was free play after you complete it. ^_^

Nah. Free play only works on games like GTA. That's like asking FF games to be free play. You're working through a storyline. That's the object...playing endlessly at nothing except talking to people is t3h yawn.

hmmmm but then wouldnt it be awsome if Fable had a free play after the very end expect everyone reacts on what you finally decide with the mask for example:
IF you throw away the mask everyone likes you and all is dandy and cheese and become the guildmaster or something
If you wear the mask you become mighty powerful and everyone is frighted of you and become the leader of the bandits and that and all guards attack you when ever they see you that would be awsome

I'm surprised, actually, Fable doesn't give you free play at the end. o_0 I always heard it did. Strange.

it sorta does but not at the very end as you can Opt to continue doing quests and do side quests and that but i think it could get boring after a while as your prop just doing the same thing all over again really, And it could of been better if it had Multiplayer but then what would you do in Multi CO-OP but hows that supposed to work haha

Yes I want Fable to be a online Adventure game as well, like World of Warcraft. :w00t:

Um...Fable is Xbox Live-geared. You have to subscribe for Live, but you do for any such game on the box.

Well I was saying because the game doesn't seem to be that much fun online needs a bigger area because I do have xbox live but no one plays it online so I gave it up. But if Fable 2 was going to be something like World of warcraft I think more people would play. :)
