Hi all, some of you might know me, some of you might not. As a friend of Daeda, you might have heard he told about a project for school involving the creation of a game using 'Game Maker' (http://www.gamemaker.nl).

For this project, I've chosen to make a simple combination between a top-down shooter and the good old Micro Machines (http://www.gamespot....nes2/index.html). Although this can't be considered nothing more than an alpha build, I would like you to test it, and give me some hints how to improve. The game just features one (small) level for now, but it does show some of my pixelarty objects I've made and it does give you the kind of feeling of the game I would like to achieve.

Gameplay is easy, aiming with mouse, shooting with left-mouse, driving with arrow-keys.

Thanks for helping me in advance.

SjaakRake.

Editable .gm6 download:

PS. For the .gm6 file to read is a registered copy of Game Maker 6.1 needed. (http://www.gamemaker.nl and your good old google...(Since I guess serials are illegal...))

Wow you're allready a lot farther than I am with this project..

Found a small bug.. you can drive through the hole next to the pencil at the end of the level so you drive outside the room..

That game's great! The other bug is that the game is not over when Health reaches 0%.

That's some great work so far. I'd advise slowing the spawn of the enemies tho, and perhaps having some death animation for the enemies.

However you prolly have seen all these three things, so all that's left for me to say is that that's great work! :)

Very cool game. Great job!

Minor detail: The turret slides around on the tank (when moving), but the shots coming out shoot from where the turret would be if it didn't move. Results in shots coming from a few pixels away from where they should.

Thanks for your tips.

Daeda: Thank you, it's fixed now.
Comrade Jerkov: Game over is going to be implented very soon, thanks. About the spawning, I'll slow it down a bit, but just a minute ago, I got the idea to change it around a bit, and I think I'll change it in a way, so the enemies won't be spawned if you're too far away from the pods. I'll give my best shot on death-animation, but it's very hard for me, since this is my first pixel-art project. Thanks for the tips!
Destroyer: I've noticed that problem, but it's very hard to fix, since that has to do with the way the bullets are drawn. They are drawn from the center of the tank, and it's pretty much impossible to draw them at the tip of the turret. I'll try to fix it though, thanks!

Another, overall thanks, more hints are allways welcome.

If you have some ammo of one type, and pick up ammo of another, you lose all of the first type
