I guess you obviously didn't realize that CCW is already in the future, by about 10 years... If not more. Is there already talk for a Merkava V, when the Merkava IV was released just in 2003? Hell yes, but probably the stage where they're still figuring the faults of the IV's. Are the M8 assault rifles being fielded and in mass use? in this yes, but in the real world no. They're still testing it, to see if they can make it better. AK-103's? Probabbly thought of, but not even in the concept stages. Same for the Wyvern and F-35's. Probably in concept stages (well, not for the F-35, it is going to be the next big thing in air combat), but not used. It's not as if we're trying to keep with reality all the way here. And, I'm not going to go overboard with the number of HOUNDs I'm going to have. Ali can have his Shagohods, but I can't have my HOUNDs? Not cool for balance there.

OK if you have mechs the Shagohod can walk as well (like in MGS3), it also can go 400 kmph with its rocket boosters and it can also fire medium ranged balistic missiles that can hit anywhere in the world because of its special move of going really fast. Seem fair now?

The Shagohod is nothing but a really large, really expensive tank. Read the thread.
These are mechs that go 100mph. That's insane, no military ground vehicle will be able to go that fast in the next twenty years. And also, whereas the Shagohod members plan to build about 20 total between five countries, you probably plan to build at least three hundred of these, probably more like 500. That's a hell of a lot compared to what we're building at extremely great cost.
This is ten years in the future, not 200 where we have anti-grav tech and lasers. If you can have repulsorlifts, I assume I can have a fleet of flying submersible aircraft carriers which carry ballistic missiles.
If CCW2 is just going to be an ubertech exhibition from all sides, I'm out.

It's not specifically him, more the fact that about four other people have plans for things that won't be feasible for another fifty or sixty years, and won't reach deployment for another eighty years. It's like having helicopters in an RPG set in 1918.

STFU the lot of you. I've already banned lasers larger than my current ones which are power hungry bitches that sit on a massive tower. And the only rail guns allowed will be naval rail guns and shore batteries that are massive, power hungry, and eat through barrels like a fat child at McDonalds.

I'm letting them have this stuff assuming they don't take it out of proportions. A tank is far superior to a mech in my opinion, and in reality. Maybe not in firepower, but in efficiency. Therefore, anyone with mechs should RP accordingly. It's not going to be a tech-wankfest, but I am allowing such things merely for the freeform purposes. It is a fucking RPG after all. Realistic, yes. But not so realistic you can't have some creativity.

Technology doesn't win the battle, remember. Superior RPing does. I've seen guys have MiG-17s take down massive airships from a 2050 level. Technology is only meant to be a crutch, and not what wins. A bullet does the same thing in every tech level, as does a combat laser.

And remember one thing: World Wars tend to cause the R&D department to get a pretty penny. Look at what both the Allies and Axis accomplished technologically in WWII. Things that probably wouldn't be feasable in that short amount of time had there not been extreme circumstances involved.

Also, to clarify one thing:

...but there will only be up to 30 in active service at any one time.

So he isn't making hundreds of the things, and definitely isn't fielding hundreds. Only enough to replace those which were destroyed.

And if you already didn't notice, Spence, your ally has a small yet good number of submersible aircraft carriers which launch ballistic missiles. Just minus the flying part. So, we're 3/4 of the way there.

Nology: AK-103s are in fact manufactured. Though just not as popular yet. It's a relatively new design.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AK-103 <-- proof. Venezuela got 30,000 of them. Don't think they got shipped "imaginary" guns or anything. I still believe this RP would be best if not overdone. Mechs are overdone, if anyone tries to prove me that they are practical when they are indeed not. It is unfeasible to even field them, because all the other team has to do is blast a leg off, and your multi-million dollar equipment goes bye bye.

It's all I'm trying to say. If it does not catch, do not be surprised when 5 T-80s completely obliterate all 30 of the mechs by shooting their legs off.

ARGUMENT FROM CREATION, a.k.a. ARGUMENT FROM PERSONAL INCREDULITY (I)
(1) If evolution is false, then creationism is true, and therefore God exists.
(2) Evolution can't be true, since I lack the mental capacity to understand it; moreover, to accept its truth would cause me to be uncomfortable.
(3) Therefore, God exists.

OK, first off:
Spence, not repulsorlifts for me, I'm gonna go the more realistic route here, and use a hovercraft base. You know, like the one seen on this: WTF kind of hovercraft I'm gonna actually use. I'm not gonna go the uber-tech way and give all of them hovercraft bases, though, so only the ones without legs, or wheels, or any resistance to the ground can go 100 mph. Hell, knowing how much stuff I put on 'em, they may still go slower than that. And, it will not be an ubertech exhibition. I will still have my original forces, plus these. Anyways, it's not as if I'm gonna have them in full production. I'm gonna be seling some too, so it won't be just me who's "uberteching" the battlefield.

Ali, I didn't know you weren't using the Shagohod's "uber-capabilities". But, according to Spence, and his logical reasoning with my HOUNDs, since it has a Fusion reactor, it's not feasible. After al, we don't have those working yet, and when they are useable, they'll still be huge, too huge to fit in the Shagohod. So, you can throw those out the window. It's not that you're playing a little more fair with it, it's that you have a freaking fusion reactor in it, and I can't even have some mechs with hydrogen power cells. At least I don't pull zero point energy out of my ass. Nothing against the Shagohod, but I'm just saying that it's a little bit of ubertech in itself, if he classifies my mechs as ubertech.

Blodo, I didn't realize that AK-103's were already out, you'll have to let me delte that portion of my statement. And, since you can blow their leg off, and they'd be down for the count, why do you have a problem with it? There's a weakness to them that you just pointed out. Well, not all of them, but a good number of them. After all, there will be ones that also have tank treads instead of legs, and wheels, and hovercraft bases... I'd say that's about a third you can kill because of the legs.

...And that's it. the main thing I want to point out to you is that it's not extreme ubertech. I mean, it could be built right now, but our governments don't want to put in a helluva lot of money into something that could backfire. And, I won't be arming these with WMDs, or anything like that. If it's my money I'm throwing down the drain, why are you bitching. It's my country I'm fucking over, not yours.

The Shagohod does not have a fussion reactor, it has a nuclear reactor.

Well, from the impression I got, it was a fusion reactor that you were using. Sorry about that. But even then, it's still not feasible. I mean, that thing is an uber-tank, so it could just be taken out with a swift bomb to the top of the head.

The medium ranged surface to air missiles would stop any aircraft and its armour would prevent reactor damage.

How thick of armor? Because I bet I can name one bomb that can get through it.

Edit: And, I just noticed that crave has just started to use the Falken. A very advanced plane, which is in actuality ubertech. I'm not sure if he has the laser on it, but that kind of technology is still a ways off. Sorry to drag you in Crave, but you made a good example.

Dual-layer Chobham with forward explosive-reactive overlay, Chobham is classified but I doubt will a full armoured brigade that and anti-air defences that a Shagohod could be taken out unless in a mass suicidal attack.

When you look at how much pilots cost to train loosing them in an attack is not a good option.

One F-117 ( think that's right) Nighthawk stealthbomber outfitted with one bunkerbuster. Not being used for it's intended purpose, perhaps, but it would go through that Chobham like a knife through warm butter. And, the greatest part about it is, is that you wouldn't see it coming until after it dropped its payload.

Mechs are not unfeasible. They are impractical. Belka will only use them where most other nations might use, say, a Bradley. With the obvious exception that they can't drag infantry around like an APC. Other than that, I'll be using tanks.

How many times have I told you that this isn't supposed to be a hundred percent realistic.

But whatever. I'm so fucking bored of these arguments I'm almost GLAD I haven't been paying attention. You lot are really starting to get on my fucking nerves.
