The King today issued the first statement to other countries since the nuclear attacks:

Tyranistan has been rebuilding and recovering from the nuclear attacks against our great nation. Our military was required to assist the rebuilding and restructuring effort, and myself and my family stayed in the palace, keeping only internal contact, amid more fears of what may lie ahead. However, we are ready to rejoin the war effort

OOC: I was on holiday, and needed some spam post to make my sudden return make sense. Luckily, the nuke was well timed to give me a reason .

OOC: Well good to have you back. Belka's about to invade you while on a genocidal rampage, so I'd plug my butt if I were you.

OOC: BZZZT, wrong. I actually hope Torn will render some assistance.

The Free Republic expresses great sympathies for your loss. However, you may take some heart in that our retribution on your behalf was swift and just. We have a proposition for you, our noble allies:
Clandonia has a lot of resources that may be useful to you in rebuilding your nation and its economy, and we have already captured a good number of their military hardware. In return for complete resourcing rights to Clandonia, and also any humanitarian aid Belkan is able to provide, we request immediate support to deal a deathblow to the decadent socialist pigs currently corrupting Clandonia with their pestilential slur.

We hope His Majesty is in good health, and that he will come to a swift decision on this matter. These are trying times for us all, and we hope that together, your nation and ours can reshape the world.

Great Leader,

The nation of Clandonia has stuck by us in the past and proved to be a worthy ally, however they failed to represent us like you did through retaliating against the AU. It will be a decision the family will ponder over.

Indeed, the family would ponder. A Belkan 'Advisor' had been admitted to the palace a long time ago, while Belka assisted in retraining the Tyran military. His name was Mikal Panek. The short, dark-haired man had his eyes far too close together for your average joe to take him for a sincere and honest man. However it was now that the whole card game would change. Panek was a sleeper. While publicly loyal to Holdan and his regime, Panek was also in the employ of the current insidious government. And now he had been 'woken up'.

Walking into the King's private bedchamber in the dead of night, he had been almost dumbstruck to find it unguarded.

Grappling His Highness around the neck, he whipped out a flickknife and held it to the King's throat, gently tipping the point of it into his larynx.
"Greetings, Your Majesty," he hissed, his voice barely able to do much else, "I have a little...proposition for you."

The King was helpless. He valued his life much more than anybody elses, and with his life in serious danger he was probably much more prepared to submit to any demands. It was a good plan.

He knew who his attacker was from his unique voice. "Panek..." he spat, his voice full of loathing. The King had to try and save his own life, regardless of what this so called advisor was doing. "First Clandonia, and now the Belkans turn on us too? Any other leader would be fooled by your elaborate plan, but I like it." he lied. "Let me hear the proposition. I'm more prepared to listen than you might think".

[Ash]

"I know," Panek replied snidely. "Here it is. A little bird told me that you received a proposition from our Great Leader recently, asking for military aid. I was ordered to...'persuade' you to cooperate. In exchange for you life and, oh, say, that of your family, you are to grant only two things. One: You will agree to the proposal. Two: You will allow me to accompany you anywhere you go. I will be the crow on your mantlepiece for nevermore. I will be the parrot on your shoulder whispering into your ear. And by the way, I will be reporting back home every ten hours. If at any point I don't report, this country of yours will be returned to the stone age in pieces. Am I quite understood?"

The King didn't have to think about what was said. "You have my word. No one will know what is happening, and the Palace will be under lock down. No one outside the palace will know. My orders will come from you."

He knew his life was safe, as he awaited the proposal.

[Ash]

Panek released his grip on the King's throat.

"Very well. You may return to sleep now. In the morning, you'll give your answer to the proposal, and our great crusade will begin. You have my word that you will still be given full rights as the proposal stated. We are nothing if not an honourable people. Good evening."

With a mock-courtesy, Panek bowed and left the chamber, and the King, to report his success. Belka would know the answer even before it was given.
