Background Info:
An experienced veteran of the Korean War, Lt. Col. Stevens is the Chief of Staff of the 1st Infantry Division. The 1st Infantry Division, "The Big Red One," is directly subordinate to the 5th US Army, whose area of responsibility is the Northeast United States. Lt. Col. Stevens was promoted directly to his current position from the position of executive officer for an Infantry Regiment attached to the 4th Infantry Division. He now serves as the chief aide to the commanding general of the division, assisting in all areas of management. Unbeknownst to most, the current commanding general is an incompetent quack, and is a "listening head" of a general who simply listens to Army Command's latest out-of-touch orders, executing them with love for the bureaucratic and unhinged heirarchy. As a result, Stevens has, on numerous occasions, had to "cover" for the general, essentially doing his job when others are watching. He has continually been given favorable fitness reports, citing him as a capable staff officer and a competent battlefield commander.
