Davy Jone's locket:

DJ's Locket

Tia Dalma's Locket

TD's Locket

And... We have a match! :) ^_^

Could Tia Dalma be Davy Jone's love? I hope this is confirmed in the third movie... They both have matching lockets, as seen from the screencaps. Considering that Tia Dalma goes with them on their journey in the third movie, if this is the case then we will find out...

how the.....i dont remember these .... emm... how did you find this were you just .....looking intently ??

where did you find them in the film, because i suppose there is the chance that they were mistakedly put there if they were just tiny things int he corner of the shot.... a blooper...but...

still.......THAT CONFIRMS IT, TIA + DAVEY WOAAAAAAAAAAHHH

they certainly are an odd match, hmmm, yeh we will have to find out hte importance of her knowledge in the third, and there must be a reason for her going with them to rescue jack .... because i doubt she just wants to see him again briefly!

wowww

good find,

odd how you found it...

but matches meaning they must have met before.... and she seems to be very .....emmm...raunchey towards any man. ;)

Tia Dalma's locket is glimpsed in "A Touch of Destiny"

Davy Jone's locket puts him back to sleep when Will is stealing the key...

Furthermore, in the commentary, the writers point out the locket when it is shown in Davy's possession, but do not tell its importance, besides saving Will's skin.

Raunchy means... attracted to? I think that would explain Davy's pain, if she was cheating on him...

wow - oh well if it was that thing singing him to sleep and stuff i believe you it probably IS something to be noticed, and even more so if its mentioned bbehind the scenes = wow great find!

They definately got to be...ALTHOUGH

a random sudden thought: When Tia Dalma tells them about Davey Jones's heart, i know she tells it so that he fell in love with a woman, but when they say the sea she doesn't tell them their wrong, but says Same Story, Different Version. ALL are true.......i dunno, it sort of sounds to me like it isn't a woman, but a woman is just a metaphor or how he hated the world.....

i dunno that bit just sounded odd to me.... but yeah there has to be a connection with them and that seems the most obvious one as Tia Dalma fancies everyone, and i doubt many other people would have fancied Davey Jones as he is so cruel

I think he became cruel because of what happened... However, that metaphor idea made me think of something, you know how when the Hammerhead guy says "he must have been claimed by the sea" Davy Jones said, "I am the sea"... so in that way, maybe Tia Dalma is the sea too...

And it makes sense, because I used to think how can loving somebody cause you pain, and if he loved her, and she loved him, and then she went and loved someone else, like in the scene where she decides she like Will better than Jack, that would cause him alot of pain because that would make his love 'unrequited' I think it is called, and that must be painful...

Hmm... I wonder what would happen if Davy Jones sees Tia Dalma in the third movie...

EDIT:What if he softens up, that would be a risky move on the moviemaker's part

well of course a cast member would say that. they want to protect the plot. camera men and security guards are much more easily bribed

i can imagine him going soft...but i think it would actually ruin the movie... could you imagine tia just saying "I LOVE YOU DAVEY" and Davey going "BUT YOU HAD Meeee, and kissed Jack Sparrow!!!!" or somethign random like that........ emmm.. ok bad example but i doubt that will happen in the film....

but yeah theres definately some history. - i wish someone had read one of those letters which was in the chest (The one they actually dug up) along with roses and the actual chest of Davey Jones.

i think elizabeth had a quick glance at them but :/

All I can imagine is Davy Jones sees Tia Dalma and then he has that face that he has when Jack Sparrow was trying to trick him into freeing Will in the second movie... However, like I said it would be a really risky move... There was a reason why Jack wasn't able to trick him in his first appearance... it would take away the ruthless character...

El Kevo, if the cast denied it, then what was his explanation for the matching lockets? You have to admit that it is pretty hard to explain...

I wouldn't care about Davy Jone's heart, I would be more interested in seeing those letters...

I have a funny feeling this is just the result of the art department scrambling to make up for the never-finished-script. One or the other is probably just a slightly differently dressed version of the other, and it was hoped that no one would notice. My guess is that the locket in the key stealing scene wasn't originally scripted, but the constantly changing script probably called for something to "keep him asleep" or what-have-you. Tia's locket is only glimpsed very briefly (I believe), and I doubt the simplistic level of this screenplay would allow something like that to go by so quickly if it would come into play later.

As great as the movie is, it's riddled with plot holes and inconsistencies. These matching props certainly doesn't "confirm" anything. Of course, it certainly isn't out of the question either (the script probably still isn't finished, and this online rumour could have given those writers some fodder).

Watched the movie again this morning with this theory in mind. My revised thoughts:

- The shot where we see Tia's locket indeed appears to be showcasing the locket, masking it behind the action of Jack stealing that ring. I still think it's too subtle for the depth of this movie, but that locket was definitely meant to be seen.

- You'll also notice that the lock on the Dead Man's chest is in the same shape as these two lockets.

- All that said, I still don't think Tia is Davy's love. Firstly because of the way she tells the story: she really doesn't tell it like she's the one who he fell in love with. Secondly, Tia seems too young for Davy. Davy must have cut out his heart at least a hundred years beforehand (Bootstrap was in Davy's service for around 10 years and still looked quite human; therefor, the more fish-like crew members would have to have been in service for 30-50 years; the guy who is basically part of the ship's wall must have been around for 80-100 years; if this guy was is first "captive" [unlikely, tales of "Davy Jones" were around much longer than that], Davy has been the way he is for about a century), and Tia is certainly not 100 years old (unless she's immortal or something screwy like that [stabs at Barbossa])

Anywho, I'd say she knows/knew Davy's love, but isn't the love herself.

Hmm... I hadn't thought of that she might actually have gotten the locket from Davy's love...

Ever thought of using Wikipedia???? :p

As the group search for an escape route back to the mortal world, they encounter numerous souls adrift in the water. Tia Dalma explains that Davy Jones' duty as captain of the Flying Dutchman was to ferry the souls of those who died at sea into the next world and every ten years for one day he could come ashore to be with the woman he loved. Believing that his true love, the sea goddess Calypso, had abandoned him when he did come ashore, he abandoned his duty and became the cephalopod-like monster he is now. Whilst caressing her locket, she reminisces that he was once human.

She and her estranged lover, Davy Jones, briefly reunite while she is imprisoned. Calypso says she still feels deeply for Jones, and explains why she failed to meet him on the appointed day, saying that Jones never would have loved her if not for her uncontrollable and unpredictable nature. Jones claims he no longer cares for her. Calypso chastises him for failing his duty to ferry souls to the other world. It was because he neglected his charges that Jones corrupted his mind and soul and become a monster, cursed to live eternally at sea. Calypso is also furious that the Pirate Lords trapped her in a human body and threatens to unleash her wrath upon them once she is released and adds she will fully give her love to Jones, and it appears they reconcile. When she touches Jones, he momentarily transforms back into the man he once was. Before leaving, Jones wistfully remarks that his heart will always belong to her.

All from Wikipedia
