Ok, I have this notebook with 1GB of RAM, and I want to get more. It says it has 533MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-4200) RAM, but not what brand. Does the RAM have to be the same brand as the kind already installed for it to work?

No, as long as its DDR2 it will work fine.
