I've sorta figured to take the role of Humanity if that's ok, that is descendants of Earth (I'll explain more in the story below).

Background

The history of Earth is roughly speculated, some accounts prove true, and some accounts prove fabricated, yet many things point to one thing, Earth after centuries of internal wars finally managed to make some progress into space travel. According to some logs it was lucky that with a race fractured for so long confronted with internal wars and strife they even managed to take their first babysteps into space, let alone find the secret to FTL travel, yet somehow they did it, yet the technology couldn't possibly allow quadrant-ranging travel. Eventually it was decided by the governing Earth bodies to begin the colonization of nearby solar systems, under a joint operation by all nations. It was hoped by some governing bodies that by working together a joint Earth Government could be possible. Initially everything was going according to plan, the joint operations of Earth beginning to send several spaceships to nearby sectors, however it eventually came to a core of hundreds of scientists to find out the biggest discovery of all, possibly notable as "the wheel" of the space age subtly termed the "Slipstream Drive" or "Hyperdrive" by the Earth media. This device enabled Earth to travel between quadrants and with this, the hope of contacting extraterrestrial life. Two colony ships, the "ISA Peacebringer" and the "ISA New Hope" housing around a million to two million people were prepped for a journey in which lied the hopes of spreading the torch of mankind onwards to eternity across the universe. All Hyperdrive tests were successful, and the laboratory tests with animals proved no harm would come to the humans along the way in stasis.

Initially as the ships were being launched, an accident occurred as the Hyperdrive corridor was slowly opening which nobody still knows today about what actually threw the ISA Peacebringer and ISA New Hope off course. The Terran Hegemony are the descendants of the ISA Peacebringer. The accident flung the ship at least into the target quadrant. The resultant entry caused the ship to crash into an asteroid field in which after a heartbreaking situation to save the ship, the captain ordered the deaths of 200,000 colonists by jettisoning one of the leaking reactors which breached, and the resultant bombardment by large asteroids severely crippled the Science Module (along with thousands of terraquads of data and fragmenting all information about the Hyperdrive), the Communications Module along with battering the engines meaning escape was now impossible. The Hyperdrive systems were burnt out, the ship's databanks now with fragmented plans of the Hyperdrive, the only good news was that they landed at an area where they found a world capable of supporting life, otherwise the crew would have been destroyed by the deathly embrace of space. At least the atmospheric entry was more successful, the captain able to have landed the ship successfully.

Using post-Earth technology remaining in the ships Earth databanks the colonists settled, alone from mankind's cradle. The planet, which would become the capital of the Hegemony would be called New Earth, despite arguments over the cliche name it was said that it would fit more than anything. After a century of development, Space Shipyards were created and New Earth's moon, dubbed "Artemis" became a mining station, and the lone gas giant "Poseidon"'s moon "Apollo" became a research station. Scientists still try to unlock the secrets of the fragmented Hyperdrive, even some recollections of long dead scientists who were experienced experts in Hyperdrive technology still unable to create a full piece of the technology which would enable them to at least call home. Eventually the Hegemony discovered two star systems, dubbed Thor and Zeus had capable life supporting planets, and these quickly became core worlds of the Hegemony. Several outposts and bases were also made in the three core systems, and after a century or two of development, things are looking smoothly for the Hegemony, and they are beginning to launch several missions into deep space.

The Hegemony seeks to reunite with Earth as a long term goal, whenever that should be. They're also newcomers to the galaxy, but don't mess with them, and don't underestimate them. Although they only have a few worlds they will contest some of the races here, and learn secrets. Nobody's heard from the ISA Hope though, or Earth.

Location: Delta Quadrant.

Faction Specials: Capital Ship Class construction (like Battleships and Carriers) due to Humanity's need to expand and their favouring of big ships, post-Earth technology was roughly designed to incorporate this in their use of building capital class ships. Because of this, Terran Capital Ships are much easier to construct, armed with many weapons showing that they are a formidable foe.

Core Systems/Worlds/Guarding Ships:

Star System: New Sol-
Contains:
New Earth, homeworld of the Hegemony. Artemis, New Earth's moon is a mineral outpost colony.

Also contains the "Pride of New Earth" or rather just substituted as P.N.E, a space station orbiting New Earth which serves as a huge militarial and civilian/commercial/trading space station.

The Artemis Shipyards are placed in orbit around Artemis, and minerals are ferried here from New Earth and the moon to construct ships.

Poseidon, is the gas giant in the outer reaches of New Sol. Poseidon's moon, Apollo, is a military/research base, defended by Cerberus a military space station.

Saber, a carrier guards New Sol.

Star System: Thor-
Contains:
Khimtar, a growing prosperous world with wealthy resources. Also known for it's new synthesized wine, courtesy of post-Earth technology coupled with a particular alien twang called "Red Elixir". Good trading ports coupled with a developed industry. Has a trading space station in orbit called "Contemplation".

Guarded by the carrier Blade of Woe.

Thor also contains a volcanic inhospitable world simply called Pyro next to its sun. Thor also has two more planets, a colonized agri-world called "Fortune" and an uncolonizable ocean world for the time being called "Atlantus".

Near the sun also is the research ship Valkyrie conducting study on various solar flares and general space activity.

Star System: Zeus-
Contains:
Baal, a terran planet which serves mostly as a military camp training world notable for it's conditions which tends to make troops more tougher. Surrounded by an asteroid belt, and as such individual mining colonies with ties to New Earth mine here.

Also contains Arcus, a barren world with wealthy mineral resources. In orbit is the mining facility Gold Rush which serves as a dropoff and trading point.

Guarded by the battleship Helios around Baal. The support frigate Undine guards Gold Rush.

OOC: I'll complete the ship specs/navy/tech and all that tommorrow.

The Hegemony has not yet contacted aliens.
