Soon, an android officer steped in to his quarters. "Report" yammark said. what is the situation?
"Well, sir" the officer began. this system seems active in starship movements. though we do not have the infomation on where the source for the ships is. what are your orders?
"Prepare a small group of praetorian cruisers" the commmander repied. we'll see if these organics can prove amatch for the consortium"

"My Lord," he said, falling to one knee, "Our scouts have confirmed the sensor reports. If drained, the reserve should be able to fuel the entire Wayworld for more than a year standard time."
"Good. Send down the mining craft, and prepare vessels to transport the fuel back to Lo'rassia."
"My Lord, there is something else."
Illyriel sighed internally, but his composure remained serene. "Speak."
"My Lord, there is a Consortium fleet in orbit on the other side of the planet. They may be here for the Promethium as well."
"Stronger than us?"
"Yes, my Lord. We could summon reinforcements from Lo'rassia if necessary."
"Indeed. Hail them, let's see if we can't strike a deal. I would prefer to avoid a fight."
"Of course, my Lord."
The aide rose and departed, leaving Illyriel to return to his musings. It was strange, he thought, that when they had first fallen out of Slipspace near the planet, signs of intelligent life had been evident all over it. Now, it seemed as if the whole planet had died - there was nothing moving across the surface of the entire world.
"Admiral?" Illyriel called.
"Yes, my Lord?"
"Strengthen the shields. I believe we may be under a-"
That was when the first ion beam slammed into the hull of the ship.

((OOC: If you guys can keep this between yourselves without it getting out of hand, I'll let it through, if not, I'll have to close this topic with blowing up the planet in a hyper-volcanic situation with the star going black hole)
OOC: Personally I believe in the proportional loss theory, like say if I captured his ship he would blow up one equal to mine, or a victory of one player would be a defeat for him later on.

"We are under unprovoked attack from this planet. Requesting assis...ce clearing this planet. Repeat, requesting immediate assistance!"
Illyriel cut off the signal without waiting for a reply - the robots would hail if they agreed.
"Situation?"
"Two ships damaged, my Lord." An explosion far below rocked the bridge.
"And we still can't isolate the shots?"
"Negative my Lord, they are refracting our tracer signals."
"Then we shall have to perservere. Prepare all available units for a surface sweep and open up a line to Lo'rassia."
Quickly, a comm-screen was placed before the Warmaster, and a worried General Kaelis appeared.
"My Lord?" he inquired.
"Kaelis, we're taking fire from the surface. I need reinforcements for a sweep."
"Pull out of range?"
"Not an option; they could track us back to the Wayworld."
"Of course. Two detachments?"
"That should be enough. My thanks, Kaelis."
"It is as nothing, my Lord. My first and fourth await your command."
Another explosion sounded as Illyriel cut off the link. But before the screen could be removed, it beeped and a light blinked from the corner. The Consortium had replied.
"Ah," said Illyriel, cracking his knuckles, "This ought to be interesting."

Without turning to the adjutant, Illyriel replied; "Tell them to assume planetary assault formations. We're going to attempt an atmospheric entry, then assault their gun positions. A total cleanse of the area may be required. Oh, and tell them not to fire on Consortium forces unless fired upon. Repeat that, do not fire on the machines."
"Yes, my Lord."
Another adjutant interrupted, "My Lord! The Deathbringer has jettisoned her escape pods."
Illyriel cursed. "Is she fully evacuated?"
The adjutant paused. "Yes, my Lord. No casualties but the ship itself."
The Warmaster nodded; this had served only to steel his conscience.
"Your orders, my Lord?"
"Continue the assault. All units."

Kalmor was confident about the engagement to come. Preliminary intelligence scans had revealed the enemy to be a humanoid species, simian in appearance, with long, dragging arms. While they had achieved a reasonable level of technology, they did not seem like a particularly warlike people: victory should be achieved in a short time.
"Planetfall in 5! " called the pilot; "Brace yourselves men!" Kalmor responded.
"3! 2! 1!" The craft shuddered as the powerful reverse thrusters maxed out, halting the ship a few feet above the ground. There was a momentary pause before it slammed into the ground and the exit hatch flew open.
"Touchdown! Go, go, go!"
Within a few seconds, the squad hold was empty, and the ship had begun lift-off.
Kalmor slammed down behind a small hillock, the rest of his squad spread out about him. The ape-men and the Caenophar were exchanging fire over the hill, but the enemy's doom was imminent; Kalmor had signalled 4 of his men to flank the enemy's position. They dived behind trees and rocks, and quickly cover-hopped towards them. Soon, they let loose a lethal burst of fire into the natives lines. Kalmor nodded, and moved the rest of his squad into the vacated position.

High above, Warmaster Illyriel surveyed the battlefiled from a complicated series of data screens. The battle was going well; very few casualties had been reported in return for significant territorial gains. But he dared not smile, as he saw an enormous armoured company of the enemy moving towards his western flank.
Illyriel cursed - most of the vehicles were engaged half a continent away. he had been banking on the Consortium keeping their word, but they had remained silent since the transmission.
Where were those goddamned robots?!

"Affirmative, command. No casualties in return for significant enemy dead."
"Roger that. Enemy armour inbound on your position; hold until reinforements arrive."
"Sir."
Armour? This would require some preparation.
"Company, form up!" barked Kalmor. His warriors quickly fell into line around him.
"Prepare an anti-armour ambush; Critical points will be here, there and there." Kalmor finished, pointing out two small copses close to the road running through this area.
"Sir? We don't have any anti-tank equipment!"
"Yes... I'm afraid it's going to have to be grenades through the command hatch until those reinforcements get here. Anything else? Right, let's get a roadblock up, pronto."

"Sir!" The sudden shout interrupted his musings and he looked up to see one of his men pointing into the distance. A dust cloud. Dense, and getting rapidly closer. Fuck.
He could hear the enemy machines now, grumbling like angry old men. Primitive barbarians..., he thought to himself.
"Get into your positions. Do not let yourselves be seen!"
Kalmor chose to secret himself behind a tree and camo-blanket on the right of the road as his men fell into place about him.
Soon, the tanks were approaching. An advance guard of two vehicles rolled up before the rest of the column. Each boasted a huge cannon on a main turret, and two high-calibre weapons poking from the sides. The leading tank stopped to investigate the road block of pulled down trees and their own dead which was stretched across the road. Kalmor scarcely dared breathe as one of the creatures emerged from the turret hatch and wandered towards the impromptu blockade.
The creature paused, then grunted something to it's comrades. Kalmor whispered an order into his intercom.
Before the savage could recieve a reply, Kalmor's squad sniper had placed a round between its eyes. The beast fell to the ground wordlessly, a pool of blood spreading around it. A shocked looking head emerged from the first tank's turret, which also recieved a round to the skull. Kalmor's vibro-grenade sailed in through the hatch so obliginly left open, turning the tank's occupants into so much static dust in a loud explosion.
Another grenade skimmed through the viewing hatch of the second tank before the enemy had even fired a shot, ending their lives in a raging inferno.
A long silence followed before Kalmor allowed himself to breathe out.
"Well," he spoke into the intercom, "that went as well as could be expected."

Kalmor allowed himself a second to recover, before barking out an order;
"Allright guys, back to your positions! More'll be on us any moment!"
And as though he were a herald of the gods, a vast dust-cloud could suddenly be seen on the horizon. A minute later, the column was upon them.
They too found the clearing deathly still and silent, and halted to examine the destroyed vanguard. Kalmor was horrified at the sheer number - there were 6 tanks already halted and more constantly appearing. There must be hundreds in this column! His squad, dedicated infantry-hunters, could not take out a hundred tanks.
"My warriors," he breathed into his throat-mic, "Prepare to die with honour. We attack on 3. 1-"
Suddenly, explosions and laser charges were heard further down the line, followed by screaming and chattering gunfire. Bright flashes of light could be seen.
Kalmor's sigh was heavy with relief. The robots had arrived at last!
"2..."
The flashes and explosions continued. The simian natives of the world were panicked, and ran back to their tanks, which were already turning to face the threat.
"3!"
None of them made it through the storm of fire that erupted from the trees. The two nearest tanks found their interiors detonated as grenades sailed through open hatches, as those further up the line flipped in their death throes. The Consortium's attack was merciless and relentless - those few soldiers who were downed by sheer weight of bullets did little to stem the tide of grim, shining steel that fell upon the helpless defenders.

Slience fell after the consortium's relentless assault on the weak organics. a buzzing could be heared from above as the commander had arrived in the aftermath.
"I can see im late....no matter. the battle is over and we can regroup for a counter-offensive if you have the numbers that is.
At the moment a command legionnaire steped forward to the commander and bowed. "Sir" it droned. the remaining native military personnel have been rounded up and have been terminated. more ground units are arriving as ordered.
"Wonderful, i was in the mood for some battle"

"Commander!" he hailed, "I'm patching you through to command now."
High above, Warmaster Illyriel regarded this new screen with interest.
