A new update for GaW!

This time we are showing off the capital ships for each faction. For the Republic, the Venator class frigate, and for the CIS, General Grievous' personal flagship, the Invisible Hand, which is of the Providence class.

Both of these ships saw action during the Battle of Corucsant, which appeared at the beginning of Episode 3.

These ships will either appear in a possible space battles mode for GaW, or will be summonable via orbital bombardments in replacement of nuclear/ion cannon strikes.

Both are without normal maps, meaning ingame they will look even better.

That is really neat. Will these be for space battles or something?

Good God, how have I only just noticed this mod?

I would post this under my login but I can't due to being silenced.

Anyway, that aside, I've just been flicking through some of the links to pics and videos and my jaw is now hanging loose. I think the entire of the learning resource centre at my uni is looking at me funny.

I'm going to condense my posts for about six threads into this one because I cba to post as guest more than I have to and also because I'd be necroing :xd:

This is seriously amazing work I'm seeing here. C&C3 sucks, but right here, right now, is a reason for me to actually bother to buy it. I wouldn't play the game; I hate it, but for this mod (and Only War 2 :D ).

The animations of those infantry (and the detail on them) is absolutely incredible. You haven't only put EA to shame, you've made them look out of date by about a DECADE. They're so far in the shade they're starting to get hypothermia.

So yeah. I would firmly endorse the idea that you should just, like, demand EA to give you guys jobs to make this project commercial. They blatantly need to fire their existing modellers if there's talent like this doing it for free off their own back.

I know the "zomg yuo should sel tihs mod" line is n00bish. And yknow what? I don't care. You guys deserve it for the sheer brilliance of the work you're putting forward. And this is coming from someone with 0% interest in C&C3, and you're making me want to buy it just to play the mod. Only War did that to me for Generals. I think GAW will be doing it for CNC3.

I eagerly await further updates. :)

Perhaps some admin-typey could give me posting rights for GAW area and for Only War? I want to be able to pass comments and such without having to logout. I have my post count to think about. :D

Let me make something clear: I do NOT want to see any more posts from Pipinowns in this thread UNLESS it has NOTHING to do with Paradox's post and is a standalone comment.

All posts starting with the first one I judged to be inflamatory (pipinowns' responding to paradox) have been deleted, and the topic is now open.

May i remind CERTAIN PEOPLE that this is a mod news post. Only appropriate and on-subject comments should be posted.

Also, DLOTS's last post before the topic was closed, i felt it necessary to keep his words in case some people hadn't seen it:

That's it, you got another warn. Next time you will be suspended or banned from this forum. If the GaW Staff thinks it's reasonable to prevent you from posting here and messing up the mod's forums, your posting rights in this section will be revoked without further actions from your side. You got what you called for.

EDIT: Topic locked until we've decided what we want to do. I'm sorry for everyone else who wanted to contribute something useful right now, but I'll see to it that we clean it up and reopen it soon.

Okay, back on topic.

Thank you very very much Paradox :xd:. It's a huge compliment and i'm glad that you think so highly of our work. I'll make sure all of the team sees this in case some haven't.

I think that we have great potential and I hope that we live up to expectations :xd:.

About the detail level, since i'm mostly an infantry modeler/skinner, I think that the size and effort put into infantry by EA for CNC3 was subpar. Personally I like to see more detail, since i'm absolutely positive that CNC3 can handle it. Which is exactly what we are trying to do :)

And again, thank you for your words of praise :xd:

For land battles? They will be the orbital bombardment-type thing, where they fly over temporarily and bomb the crap out of a certain area...

Not really sure about anything to do with space battles.
