well we also really don't embrace the Halloween holidays over here either, mostly because people consider it a holiday backed by commercial interests, secondly because we have no culture connected to the history of Halloween. its probably more popular in major cities.
then again, Chavez is a populist, he will grab the topics that gets him attention. he plays on being anti-US and he will be able to do so for a long time because thats something that the south-Americans enjoy.

Haloween is not a holiday in latin american countries. Some people may celebrate it with 'fantasy parties' and some doesn't. Usually, the majority of people doesn't celebrate it. Trick or treat jokes to get candies are extremely rare...

Many nations celebrate Nov 1st "All Saints Day" some celebrate Hallows Eve or Halloween. But to ban a holiday simply because of "las vacaciones de Norteamérica" is stupid, he's a dictator and a tyrant and needs to be clearly identified as one.
