I've just stumbled upon this. Microsoft is offering Expression Web, Visual Studio Pro, Windows Server 2003 and XNA Game Studio 2 for free if you're a student.

Although I code by hand (Notepad++), I may download Expression Web seeing as it's free.

On second thoughts, I can top this...
  • Access
  • Expression Web
  • Infopath
  • MELL
  • MSDN Visual Studio libraries
  • Onenote
  • Project Professional
  • Sharepoint Designer
  • SQL Server Express Standard and Developer editions
  • Virtual PC
  • Visio Professional
  • Visual C#
  • Visual C++
  • Visual Studio .NET Professional
  • Visual Studio Professional
  • Visual Web Developer
  • Windows Server Standard and Enterprise
  • Vista Business
  • XP Professional SP2
Seems M$ want IT students to be familiar with running, managing, serving, programing for, and planning projects with M$ products, but hey! I'll have my laptop dualbooting Vista and XP if I can be bothered downloading XP
Feels wrong... But... Thanks Bill?

I already have to use most of those already, so this would be pretty helpful in the long run.
The only Question is why have I never heard of this before?

Great find though.

It is not exactly... free. Microsoft has a deal with several universities and companies where students and staff from these companies are able to download Microsoft programs (Windows, Visual Studio, Expression Web, etc) without paying from their pockets. But the university or company pays for your download or a monthly (yearly?) fee to keep the deal. I don't know exactly how these companies and universities pay for it, but they do. And if they pay well, you'll also be able to grab Microsoft Office as well, but most places doesn't pay enough to grab the Office. I think I'm still able to download MS programs through my university.
