DAMN! Gaming Life is hard in The Philippines! The hardest is the buying of video games there. If you buy at a market or bargain mall, the video games is cheap (100 pesos, around 2$ but in my country, its expensive) but vendors are so corrupt in money that they just lure buyers to buying their "fake" video games. You wanna know why fake? Because they tell the buyer that they have already tested that and it works but WHAT THE HECK they sell these CDs at small wooden stalls, i can't see computers! I don't even feel that they already tested the games. They don't even know what game is the buyer is choosing, its just "pay & go."

I bought a Red Alert 2 from a crowdy market, At the moment there, I think i took the bait because The vendor just told me they tested the game and it works, so I decided to buy it, when I went home, the CD won't work in the computer. (Installation is complete and everything is ready when I enter the game nothing happened but there are also other cases like when i enter the game it need the CD - ROM but the CD is ALREADY INSIDE THE PC!) Buying Red Alert was just my 3rd try, I also tried other games like Battle Realms, Warcraft III, Alexander and many more but i just wasted my money. I JUST WASTED MY MONEY! :thumbsupsmiley:

And another reason of why gaming life is hard in the Philippines is the EXPENSIVE video games (this time those games are sold at Big and Expensive Malls). Its like the "sidekick" but somewhat "opposite" of the Bargain Mall/Market Video Games. Around 2 years ago I checked a Good Store (not a stall) full of Good Quality games and I am kinda convinced because of all of the video games' covers and boxes are cool, which mean it gives its originality. (unlike the video games in bargain malls, their game covers are just dusty plastic that were taken from the trash.) I trust the vendor in that store because she has a computer beside her to test the games and knows about all the games to the oldest and to the latest. BUT i saw the price tag in a game called Starcraft its 7000 pesos!!!
(50 pesos divided by 7000, the answer should be the estimate of how much would be the game in $)

Note: I just want the world to know how awful is the gaming life in the Philippines today but there are also good news. Many gaming organizations today make free online games for Philippines to play without paying, enjoying 24/7 playing online games like RAN Online, WarRock, O2Jam and lots more... But dude, I also want the world to know that game overpricing and buying fake games is NOT the daily basis of a gamer, which makes gaming life hard.

-A message for poor/rich/whatever gamers worldwide

AND A MESSAGE TO THE CORRUPT VENDORS:

GO TO HELL!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty much. Otherwise, buy online. I was under the impression games in stores in the Phillipines were around 1400 pesos, not 7000. If you're going to go to one of those vendors, you might as well just download the pirated version online, because that's exactly what you're paying those shitty vendors.

Well i'm surprised. The last time I saw a game (I think it's Battle Realms) It's around 7500 pesos INSANELY OVERPRICED! It's more expensive than a GBA SP (Imagine, that's a whole console! While Battle Realms is just a PC game) and for me, buying online won't be easy because they need dollars and credit cards. Also, I don't trust these online stores. Who knows, if I give my parents' credit card number to buy online, the website may steal all the excess money and make the card empty zero. But your last solution, downloading a pirated version online is the only hope and which is a revenge to those game companies who does game overpricing. :shiftee: :) :evgr:

Goddamn Caspa. Did that hit you a little close to home or something? No offence meant, that just seems more than a little harsh for something so insignificant.

I don't want to start a fight here so i'll just say to you caspa that is one heck of a reply. I think you just gave me the spotlight!

I think you've told a few lies on your profile there. Are you sure you're 27, because you come across as a prepubescent adolesant. I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to picking your posts apart. The beginning seems like a fine place. - Caspa

So what?! I've been through other forums and still has so many lies about my profiles. What's your problem with that? But no matter, at least there is a issue build up in this topic it may spawn as many replies as possible. And thanks for the spotlight again, seriously.

If you trust a derelict street seller, why don't you trust a widely used internet site?

That's probably what gets me most - not trusting widely-used online stores, but trusting random street 'sellers'.

And thanks for the spotlight again, seriously.

You might want to start asking around before you start PMing me about wanting to fight and believing that having my light shine on you is a good thing.

WTH i'm not asking to fight i'm just asking if you're a jackass enough to just offend me and at the same time giving SPOTLIGHT to my topic

You don't trust street sellers, but you buy a bunch of games from them. Why? Or did you stop trusting them after those games didn't work?

In any case, don't ever buy from hobo's on the streets ever again. If some ''mall'' overprices their games, don't buy from them. Why don't you order some games from, for example, Amazon?

In Brazil it is nearly impossible to buy consoles. Here's a small comparison:

Wii at USA: $265 (already counting the taxes)
Wii in the 'illegal market': R$1299 ($730)
Wii in a legal store: R$1599 ($899)

Guys... this is just the video game with one wii mote and Wii Sports at best. Buying separate wiii motes and games are about R$255 ($143) each in a legal store, because dollar got cheaper, otherwise it would cost much more. XBox360 is no less than $2000 and PS3... I prefer to not even look into that.

Fortunately, PC games are not much overpriced here. We buy the newest ones for R$60 to R$100... the most expensive one is, surprisingly C&C Saga costing R$145 ($81). At the EA Store in EALA, the same package costs 10 dollars plus the 6% tax :shiftee:.

Seriously?

OLD SIG
When history witnesses a great change Razgriz reveals itself,
first as a dark demon. As a demon it uses it power to rain death upon the land,
and then it dies. However after a period of slumber Razgriz returns
As the demon sleeps, man turns on man.
Its own blood, and madness soon cover the earth.
From the depths of despair awaken the Razgriz.
Its raven wings ablaze in majestic light.
Amidst the eternal waves of time
From a ripple of change shall the storm rise
Out of the abyss peer the eyes of a demon
Behold the Razgriz, its wings of black sheath
The demon soars through the dark skies
Fear and Death trail its shadow beneath
Until Men united wield a hallowed sabre
In Final Reckoning, the beast is slain.

To be fair, I don't use Paypal. I similarly don't touch any of that, or trust it.

But play.com is god, or amazon.co.uk. It's ridiculous how much you save just from taking VAT off the purchase because they're based in Jersey or somesuch.

But you Filipinos have no fucking room to speak in terms getting ripped off. I live in Britain. Therefore I have more license to discuss being bummed by the companies than you, or any cunt else out there. Except maybe Banshee.

I can order pc games online. I did with UAW. The difference between its price and the cost in the stores here doesn't compensate. But consoles cannot be ordered from online shops outside the country. And if I ask a friend who lives in the US to buy one for me and mail it through Fedex or a similar service, it is damn expensive for them as well.
