I discovered this program we should swear by for large files, Its a high compression application.

Are their any draw backs you ask?
Well.... yes, The process of compiling and De-compiling require a large amount of CPU to process it and requires a few good hours to De-compile, and when I say hours and possibly days, It all depends on the power your CPU can deliver.

I highly recommend donating, No, I insist you donate to these guys as they put allot of effort to bringing you a free high compression application

640MB into about 1.4mb

yes...if of that 640MB, about 630 is just zeros.

really, compression can be amazingly strong, but this is just above all laws of nature and computing.

edit: in fact, PAQ (which is what KGB uses) compresses to about 20% on average:
