Hey guys, I've been watching this mod like a watcher watching the Lion. You have no idea how psyched i am to finally see a release of it, even if it is a beta. I've dabbled a little in making small mods for myself to get more from DC, but if there is anything i can do for yall please let me know

May the Emperors favor be on your side

Ladies and Gentlemen, we now have a problem of epic proportions. Thudo and the team now need more support from the community than ever before. For those of you who don't know, our beloved ravenmorpeus has left the mod team. We must now pull together to see that this dishonored chapter has their greatest chance to redeem themselves. We must ensure the honor of the Lion is left no longer tarnished. To put it frankly, I've been lurking in the shadows watching this mod for months now, and it breaks my heart to see such a dedicated leader loose heart. Every great mod eventually looses its steam due to the key member leaving. I'm begging the community not to let this happen.

For the Emperor, Brothers!
Glory to the Emperor, Death to the Fallen.

I'm here and will help in anyway possible, and have heard ravenmorpeus's message of resignation to the public. He will be missed dearly but the mod and chapter of the dark angels must live on :good:!!!

Yeah I wouldn't call it resignation. More a sabbatical.

I can't really do much more with the mod due to lack of the necessary skills, that and I'm just not playing DoW at all at the moment.

I'm having an issue where I sit reading/posting on forums, and don't really do much else, I've got GTR Evo/STCC/Race07, CoH OF, DoW, Fallout 3, Oblivion, MoH Airborne, GTA IV, Star Wars Republic Commando, GTR 2 and GT Legends on my system and I don't play any of them for more than an hour or so a week if that and I don't really want to stick to playing just one of them, to be honest I don't really feel like playing any of them a lot of the time. :p

I've had malaises before where I just can't do anything useful and then in the middle of night I've had an idea for the DA mod and done it, but I'm fresh out of ideas and the mod needs some work done that I cannot do.

I don't know why this is the case, perhaps I suffer from manic depression, who knows, I'm getting on with life in general, just not really gaming and modding much.

Although I am moonlighting as a "converter" for GTR Evo/STCC/Race07/GTR 2/GT Legends/rFactor but that also doesn't require any real 3D skills - it only requires notepad and some knowledge of how the cars work, it's a whole lot easier than DoW modding.

If/when the time comes that I'm required for the mod and I have the spirit to do it then I'll be back, but "leading" something that isn't going anywhere is a bit pointless.

And don't worry Thud'll make sure the personnel required to carry the mod forward get on-board, he's better and more experienced at that than I am, plus he knows more people than I do.

Good to see that Brother-Captain Vesuvious has been in contact with Thud to offer his services though, well done that man.

Hi guys, I'm Vaz, or Varellian on RelicNews, and OminousCow (DoH forums). After seeing Thud's advertisement for someone who can provide Leadership and Direction, I think I can be of some help :)

Spoke with Thud, he's suggested I join up, so here I am, and this is one of my favourite Chapters, so I'll be EXTREMELY happy to have a part in continuing the work the Raven, Greenphaero, Morat, Ravenwing and anyone else I may have missed out (Sorry!). If you want the units at least keeping to codex fluff, or even TT, I do have a fair bit of knowledge, and well-established connections at some of the best fluff sites and forums, and members of such sites. Anything you're not sure of, I hope to aid with something.

For coding, I'm okayish for it, and use CMS to make my changes. I've made a fully working mod (Private use only, I'm afraid, as I have used other Mods models without consent, it will not be leaving my computer for no amount of money), but I've managed to balance it well, and can use what I've learnt in this, if needed.

I'm afraid I'm not too good at 3D modelling, but I might have access to 3DS Max 8 soon, as a friend of mine has recently got a degree in 3D Design work - if I can't persuade him to join, then I might be able to use the software - of course, that means learning, and time is short, as we all know.

UCS is my thing - CMS has been a godsend, and made it far easier to edit the files, and can cross-reference all in one window... Bah you know it all anyway.

Anywho, thanks to the mod-team for designing the mod, and I just hope that where I can be of help, I can do you all proud :wink_new:

Cheers, Vaz.

Ah welcome Varellian (Vaz).

As you can see I'm still here. I've got one idea to work through then I'm taking the already mentioned here and at relicnews sabbatical until the mod gets moving again and things need coding.

I too use CMS, no-one on the team who has done any of the coding uses anything else, and that would be because since Morat left there has only been me doing the code work. :wink_new:

Oh and join the club on not being able to 3d model...

If you haven't already got access bug Thud for access to the private forum and download yourself a copy of the v1.05 internal beta and have a look at the mod, PM me if you need the password for the private forum. :)

Welcome Vaz. I do agree that we really need a fluff expert because whereas i do know quite a bit about the DA and SM organization i've never really played TT so i dont know how well our stuff compares. As far as 3D Ive got that part covered. working on a secret project to make commanders more eye catching

Aaah, so you're our 3D modeller Thud has been telling me about? Well, I've managed to get a hold of a 3D modelling program, so as soon as I get my head around it, hopefully, I'll be able to help out :glare:

If you have any questions over whether something should be in or not, just give me a PM and I'll give you an answer ;)

I think I'm correct in saying that this isn't a Strictly C2C mod (Like TTRU, or FoK), so it's a case of 'if it's cool, and it's Dark Angels, it's in'? NOw, to work out how to get Santos' Tools to be recognised =/

well, its always good to stay "codex" but in my opinion so long as we capture the true feel of the DA then im game for it. and i hope thud isnt saying anything bad or imma visit him with that hellstorm cannon again.

Thats part of it.. Exporting is more "involved" but know how it works and why it would fail.

Well the idea at the start was to be as "codex" as possible while maintaining a balance between the DA mod and the vanilla races. Something which has been achieved I believe...

...we've got 10 man marine squads at least. :p
