So here I am playing the thrawn campaign as the empire and minding my own business while systematically eradicating the rebels from the galaxy when I'm alerted that a rebel fleet has entered the vicinity of recently 'liberated' Denon. I've only rebuilt the colony station to level 5, my golans are still under construction, so its up to the PDF fleet consisting of 2 ISDII, 4 ISDI, 10 Assault Transports, and an assortment of other small craft. The rebels sent 6 MC120s, 4 Bulwarks, 1 Dreadnaught, 14 Assault Transports, and 2 MC40s. I was rather amazed to see everytime I destroyed one of these big beasts there was another one to take its place. Unfortunately for the rebels, it wasn't enough. I did win the battle, though at some cost.

Just wondering if anyone else as noticed the AI doesn't build balanced fleets at all?

People have had mixed results with the AI. I suggest installing that minimod that limits dreadnaughts.

242 IPV-1s vs. my two Dodonna VIs and single Hajen 6. Epic.

<DevXen> Today I was at the store and saw a Darth Vader action figure that said "Choking Hazard." It was great.

I had one not quite as bad as that. 2 or 3 ISDs, 3 Strike Cruisers, 4 Dreadnaughts vs a fleet of some 200+ ships. The worst part were all the Z-95s that were launched and me with no way to kill them.

But Deadnauht class CA is good figher/bomber killer (especialy mk6).

That seems, that you are lucky, beacose AI attacks me with nothing stronger than few MC40s.

recently, the AI has taken to attaking me with 2 mc120's, and about 100 Barloz's, and 30+ transports. I don't think they did this intentionally, because I spied on most of their planets beforehand, and they love to build MASSAVE amounts of barloz's ad GR-75's. they also had quite a bit of money, somewhere in the 1,000,000,000 range.

The worst I had was something like 100 squadrons of Headhunters and Y-wings supported by quite a few MC40s and Nebulon-Bs, maybe around 20-40 or so each.

hmm one time, i set kuat to mass produce lancers since i was annoyed with the AI nibbling at my territories with fighters when i had rather stupidly massed destroyers only, and guess what? the AI jumps in about as many z-95s and y-wings as there are stars in the universe 0.o

so about 30 or so full upgraded lancers against a fighter fleet that made my comp lag whenever i tried to move my screen over them. i lost, but got em back by launching the rest of my lancers with a couple of a recusants. i think grand total for the fighter toll was getting towards the thousand mark =\ mind u this was me defending only cause i wanted to build fleets that coincided with the fleets of the new republic defense force =O

at least you are not dealing with fleets of 4executor's, a soverign, AND a praetor.:thumbsupsmiley:
thankfully the empire reeks of endor syndrom, and retreat after i kill the praetor
I was sideshow_bob
