Yeah, figured I'd go ahead and post here while things are relatively peaceful in my personal life.

Here's the topic where we started and drummed up support (new blood for the Frontier 'n all ).

Basically, yeah, it's a Lord of the Rings RP. Players would start out as, ideally, either a Man, Elf, Hobbit or Dwarf for the Good Side; or an Orc, Uruk, Goblin, or Man of Darkness for that of Evil. I wouldn't worry about the Evil Characters yet, there is still a good bit needing ironing out for them before they'll be ready. Unlike the last LotR RP, this is going to several things - realistic, true to the books (until later on...), and very immersible. We've already got the first Book of the Storyline planned out, and a good bit of the Second. Yeah, I'm planning on having each Book correspond to those of the Lord of the Rings :wink_new: get over it..

Right now we already have more than a dozen willing members, which I'll list below, in no particular order (besides the first two :lion:):

-Annael Agarwaen (Sindarin Elf) - mike
-Hirlad Son of Hirluin (Dunedain of the North) - Matias
-Mithelen of the Havens (Noldor-Sindar Elf) - Elvenlord
-Devrand, Brother of Brandir (Dunedain of the South) - Yoda
-Brandir, Brother of Devrand (Dunedain of the South) - Huntah
-Beredin of the Bree-Lands (Breelander) - Florisz
-Tori Earthbreaker (Dwarf of Erebor) - RjOrrin
-Hamath, Son of Hama (Rohirric Man) - Ringy
-Belegind of Sirion (Noldor-Sindar Elf) - CIL
-Fosco of the Shire (Tookland Hobbit) - Neutron
-Aharad of Mirkwood (Black Numenorean/Khandish Man) - IRS
-Langfaer of Mirkwood (Silvan Elf) - Vithar
-Igner, Son of Harnasson (Dwarf of the Iron Hills)- Nertea
-Leovar, Son of Eorl (Rohirric Man) - Vort

There you go; that's our confirmed roster. A few others have said they'll do it but haven't finalized characters yet.

So, any questions? Comments? Criticisms? :cool2:

Well, I'm much worse at LOTR-era Tolkien writing (SILMARILLION FTW), but this sounds pretty damn interesting.

Can I play as Ulmo? How about Osse?

If not, I suppose I could put up a Dalesman or Man of Esgaroth.

It seems as if you've got an army tagging behind the Fellowship with all those T3A people... :wink_new:

I'm staying after the Fellowship... although mike, I plan on having a change of heart somewhere during the storyline seeing the brutality of my side compared to the relative niceness of yours. Don't worry, I'll keep things interesting...

If by that you mean I should get to setting it up, I'll need the official name of the RP, what you want the little description text to say, what subforums you want and if any of them need description texts, and I think that's it. You and Matias, right?
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Yep. For names.. well, we never really came up with something, so "In the Footsteps of Doom" will do for now. Galadriel reference FTW.

Description text.. 'A Shadow grows in the East, armies move, and the Ring goes South.. do you?' how's that? If it's piss-poor, meh, it'll have to do for now

Are we supposed to resubmit here?

I'll just post anyways...

Name: Fosco Underhill of Hobbiton
-Biography: Fosco Underhill is a Hobbit of the Shire. Close friends with Frodo Baggins and Sam Gamgee, as well as Merry and Pippen. Due to the passing of his father, he gained a good amount of gold and bought a Hobbit hole. Lives in a Hobbit hole not far from where his friend Frodo lives. He was also invited and attended Bilbo's party and witnessed his disappearance. A very adventurous Hobbit. Made several adventures to the Mountains. Is currently bored and looking for another adventure! He is also very energetic and good at hiding.

-Race: Hobbit of the Shire.
Age: 47(But still young for a hobbit)
Physical Appearance and Notable Features: Very short, similar in size and build to Frodo Baggins. A sure shot with a stone. Has brown hair. Likes to joke around and play pranks. Despite his size, he is very strong (For a hobbit) and able to heft a spear (A shorter spear, that is), should he ever find one.

-Height: 3-5
-Weight: 65
Weapons: Shortbow and Stones if found
-Ranged: Shortbow and Rocks
-Melee: *Nothing* (yet)
Allegiance and Kingdom of Origin: Fosco is loyal to the Shire and will risk his life to protect it

Uhh... Mike, I made some edits. Belegind is from Lindon, born in the early 2nd Age. He is purely Noldor, but did not see the light (obviously). That would put him above the normal Sindar. And he has not a drop of Sindar, Teleri or Vanyar blood in him.]

And what about Fobber Proudfoot ?

We need to write our characters in this topic also? Ah well

Name: Beradrin.
-Biography: Beradrin is a proud man of the Bree-lands. He is 25 years old. He has brown hair, it comes to his shoulders. His eyes are green-grey, and he is tall. He was born on the sixth of July, 2996, Third Age. His family on his mother’s side has lived in Bree and the surrounding lands for as long they can remember. The family stories tell that they lived here before the Numenoreands came to colonize Middle-Earth. His fathers side has been on the move for a long time. They started out at Framsburg, where one of Beradrin’s fore fathers came south with Eorl the Young, and he settled in Rohan. His family moved a lot since that day. To other regions of Rohan, to Gondor, and so on. Until Beradrin’s father fled Rohan with his family, afraid of the growing Shadow in the East.
Beradrin really loves to be outside. To hunt in the forests, fish in the rivers, feed the cattle in the meadow, or just simply read a book on a sunny day on a hill. Also, he loves to cook and make new bows and spears for hunting. He is a great merchant, he can get a lot of supplies for a lower price then it actually is…(may come in handy, not?)
Beradrin hasn’t seen a lot of the World, only the Bree-lands, a part of the Shire, a small region of the Lone Lands and the North Downs. But that will change soon…
Race.: the race of Man
Age: 25 years old
Physical Appearance and Notable Features: He is tall, has long brown hair till his shoulders, and green-grey eyes.
-Height: Taller then the common Man, but smaller then common Elf
-Weight: The usual for the race of Man.
Weapons:
-Ranged: A long hunting bow
-Melee: A spear
Allegiance and Kingdom of Origin: The Bree-lands.

Waiiitt. Someone said book 3? Does that mean we are going to follow LotRO?

No, you do not need to put up your characters in here. You really don't. I would be off to go set up the forums for Mike now, but he forgot to tell me subforums, so instead I'm going to guess and see if I got it right. There's only so much as can be different, really. Anyway, there'll be a character creation subforum in there, so you can post up in there.

And CIL: I think Fobber Proudfoot is off the cards, unfortunately.

Resubmit your characters in the right forum guys, thanks.

I like how this bypassed me completely, but whatever, I'm cool with it.
However I won't be joining as I'm intimidated by the sheer volume of people who know far too much about LotR who are :glare:
Of course I don't look busy; I did it right the first time.
Ever stop to think and forget to start again?
