Since I won't be going AWOL anytime soon, I've been considering asking for admin-ship. Before I go any further, I would like to hear your opinions.

Please don't give me the "OH for lord's sake, not a little kiddy!" I already know you're all moaning and groaning since you all think I'm illiterate and immature.

Discuss. ;)

Awww... I want the same thing... but I guess there can't be more than two or so staff here. ;)

...well, I suppose I should be around for longer before I ask for a position. ;)

There's really no need for any more staff. FZM, Copaman and I have got it covered, I'm afraid. If the RPG Frontier gathers significantly more activity then we will obviously consider adding to the staff, but for the moment three is all we need. Should a position become available/necessary, you can put your name forward as a candidate and we'll give you due consideration. I can't promise anything more than that.

Besides, i deserve to be a staff member more then you ;)

Just out of interest, from the Rpers here, who do you think is most deserving of 'next in line' for staff?
The new members or members who have not shown much 'dedication' are fairly low in line i feel (and that includes you dur

So, im just wondering how everyone considers each other in 'rank'... i actually think i am fairly deserving of 'next in line' status, but maybe im being full of myself? what do you all think?
Is there someone who is more deserving of this imaginary 'honor' then me? ;)

I don't think we should really go into specifics on that. :D It would be unfair to say so. However, my advice is this. When FZM was made staff, a while ago, I was the other candidate, despite only having been around for a few months at the time. I was considered because of my activity and my good grammar and general writing skills. That's one of the more important things. A staff member has to be able to hold others to high standards. If you look around Revora you won't find a single Staff or higher with poor grammar and sentence structure. Even the ones for whom English is a second or third language.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Ah, spelling and grammar standards, then? I think I'd be one of the winners. :D

If you want to start a fight with your self centered manner, then go somewhere else, please; I asked for opinions, not self centered questions to be answered in another topic.

I do not believe you should be held with the Imaginary Honor; no, I'd have to pick someone other than myself, but sadly, the more dedicated members have already stepped up.

As I said, this is not something to be widely discussed. It seems both Jenkins and SWG would be happy to take up a staffer position should it become necessary, but the simple fact is that it currently is not. To quote myself from earlier in this thread:

Should a position become available/necessary, you can put your name forward as a candidate and we'll give you due consideration. I can't promise anything more than that.

It's not a matter of dedication, it's a matter of experience, in both writing and admin-ship. I'm only just hanging around in the RPG area here, so I won't ask for the honor, but if Dur can prove that he is a good writer and has the experience with adminning a board, then he'd be higher in line than people who haven't got one of both of them.

Well, if you've got experience with the Admin CP, you could be high in line. But if your not, I'll go and look for a new guy who has the experience.
If the above post offended you in any way,
please take note that, until further notice, I don't care, so get lost.

I agree with both Taralom and Vortigern on this one. Not only do we have it covered just fine, and maybe more than "just fine," but we'd also be looking for someone with an advanced grasp of English and A LOT of proper experience with RP's.

No offense if any taken, but that Edit - probably by Vort - was ironically hilarious.

Now you have gone and offended me. I jokingly remark that i feel i am more deserving of staff then you are, and then you start saying that im trying to start a fight and im being a self centered dick.

Ok, my opinion of you is that you haven't been around long enough, have not showed dedication in the fact that you started an RP and then just up'ed and left it, and that others are more deserving of admin-ship then you are.
And i consider myself to be a step above you because i have shown dedication, been around longer, i have run an RPG of my own for quite some time before it got archived, and am now making a greater effort when it comes to punctuation then i use to. Happy?

I do not believe you should be held with the Imaginary Honor; no, I'd have to pick someone other than myself, but sadly, the more dedicated members have already stepped up.

Thats exactly why i considered myself 'next in line', more so then you. Then i see probably Mike at a fairly close second(only because i have been around longer), then Ravnin and Vithar are close after that, then you, Taralom, Ithilienranger and Mórvír tied after that. Thats not including people like Matias and Ash, which i would probably consider a step above or in-line with me.
Therefore you see why i feel i am 'more deserving' then you are...

Now, you meanie, you hurt my feelings, say sorry.

This discussion needs to end. It's pointless, given that there is no need for another staff member and it's not your decision anyway, and I sense it may well be on the verge of turning into a flame war. Neither of you two are going to be made into staff in the foreseeable future. Let's leave it at that.

COPAEDIT: *thanks his moderating powers quickly* Ahem, Vortigern, I don't think "flamewar" is a word either. "flame-war" or "flame war," yes, but "flamewar" no. I have fixed the aforementioned mistake and have taken into account your own hypocrisy. So much for trying to lead by example, you speeling Nazi! Yes, I did just spell spell incorrectly on purpose
