Brought up first in BU - takes only a tiny bit of research to find the whole thing is part of a big scam and spam.

Might be an idea to contact whoever deals with revora adverts, since we've had nothing but Civony adds for over a week.

Also, be careful looking up this stuff, a lot of pages you'll find are riddled with malware.

If you look at the welcome screen background (dark), it's just a LOTR screenshot blown-up and darkened. :p

*Points to the "Licensed to" line at bottom of the page* :p

I haven't seen any of them tho. The only ads here are for mobile phone plans.

How do IPB hosted forums get so much malware / spyware? And also who would be dumb enough to click on an online ad these days... I would rather bash my head in than get screwed over by this crap.

It's nothing to do with it being an IPB forum, it's whoever deals with the adverts. The same adverts appeared all over the web, before being later removed.

But its more-so with IPB hosted sites I've seen. Something I've noticed is that sites like this get sent a collection of things some people like to call "The Cheap Hull". More a site pays, the more likely good quality ads come up. The minimum payment ads just get sent to IPB forums, and they are the ones with the infections. I guess I get how it works, but what I really don't understand is how the bad ones get through. I think the ad companies that distribute the ads don't check and prevent these 'bad apples' is because they wouldn't get the payment then.

Thats probably very true, aslong as they get paid and the ads get hits then checking the ads for malware etc isn't at the top of there list, thats my view anyway.

He means that we've got a whole new set of 'Civony' ads.

I never click the ads, and i guess if they have paid then who really cares. If people are dumb enough to get drawn into the scam then that's their problem.

Oh man, they almost got us. Man oh man... I almost fell for their slick name changing strategy.

... ...

I see ads like ice cream vendors. Most of them are just creepy middle-aged men without a shirt on.

Well would you look at that? They changed the game's name to Evony.
