Community Project

The Community Project (CoPro for short) is aimed at creating mods that the community can get behind, they can make they can play it.
It is open to all contributors beginning and experienced (though the focus is on beginners).
At the moment the aim is to create a TC mod for one of the BFME games that recreates the game into a Historical/Mythological RTS.
The specifics are being worked out at the moment,so be sure to post your ideas, opinions and suggestions.
Contributions can be in just about every form we need the following:
2d artists (Palantir Images,Button Images etc)
3d modellers (Structures and models kitbashing is ok)
Concept Artists
Writers/Researchers (to write up the information on stuff and to research the Histories/Mythologies)
Ideas guys (we need creative thinkers to come up with interesting and achievable ideas)
Texture Artists
AI Scripters/Coders (depending on which game we choose to use)
Random helpers (will help with some coding stuff like Button labels and other small things needed in a mod)
Coders
Audio (for voice work and sound Effects)
Video editors (to make the Trailers and ingame video)
Mappers (mostly skirmish maps, but also a shell map)
Assistants (these guys will help in the running of things and help make sure things run to schedule)
Contributions must be there own work or have permission and give credit to all things used.
Ideas must be achievable we don't want to get to tied down on hard coding/models etc.
A Time Schedule will have to be introduced so that the mod keeps a long so as the project progresses assignment "sheets" will be posted with a list of things that need to be done and when they are needed, the contributors then choose something and work on it.
There will be very few official roles (some may be appointed like Head Coder and Assistants) so people are free to work on things.
If a person can not finish a contribution they must notify myself or the Assistants at least a week before due date so that arrangements can be made to get the item finished or work around it.
"Senior Modders" may be around to offer encouragement and support and to help from time to time but do not expect it from them.
A rule I must emphasise is to be respectful of other people and their work these people are going to often be beginners,so offer advice not just "constructive" criticism.
Once they details of the mod are decided I will develop a Milestone list (2Play would likely advice this anyway )
Things like when it should be in beta,When certain features should be done etc.
It is important that this mod move along or it will lose steam.
So for now be a part of the discussion and have fun this is your project Enjoy.

2d artists: I'm probably best at this of anything.
3d modelers: I don't have much experience in this but I'd like to get some, so it would be the perfect thing for me to do
Concept Artists:
Writers/Researchers: I'm interested in learning about histories and stuff, too, so I might as well assist the mod while doing it.
Ideas guys: Easy job
Texture Artists: I need some practice here, too
Mappers: Yeah I would like to practice mapping
Audio: Maybe. I've never done that before, and I'm not real sure about it, but I might give it a try.
Video editors: Same as audio^^

And btw, I've never worked on any mods but I know quite a lot about ini. Maybe I can also help with 2d art, texturing, audio, and definetely mapping.
I wanna see the new padawans!

A model may take several attempts and a while to finish but I have faith that everything will turn out well.

I once promised this, concerning norse mythology:
If it is decided, that a viking-faction will be included in the mod, I can do this:... and for the lore, that is even more comprehensive than the works of Tolkien, including 'History of Middle-Earth' (12 volumes) ...
... if this takes off, I'll post some links for online reading!
... for the viking-faction only, but then including:...
Writers/Researchers (to write up the information on stuff and to research the Histories/Mythologies)
Ideas guys (we need creative thinkers to come up with interesting and achievable ideas)
...
on HISTORY:
- general history, geographical expansion, realms, enemies. (for those writing the storyline in relation to the other factions)
- important events and names. (for those creating the heroes)
- general info including building technology. (for those creating structures)
- viking weaponry and warfare. (for those creating heroes and units)
- resume and links to viking reenactment. (useful for concept artists, 2D art and modelers)
- resume of gods, their characteristics and powers, and links to online reading of authentic lore. (spellbook)
- modeling of some (viking) structures.
- coding related to those structures.
- some map-related modeling and coding.
... a star shines on the hour of our meeting ...

So check out the development forums to see what can be done.
Also I'm looking for some publicity people to spread the word around other forums to try and find new contributors.
So if you are up for the job let me know.
