Time for a 3D assignment.
Let's start with something easy.

A greek Hoplite.
He should have the Shield,Helm, spear etc.

There are plenty of references out there to choose from.

So if you want to try your hand at 3D modelling why not try it?
Models can be kitbashed if needed.

Spear has the things from Tower Guards still.. should just be a normal spear
Shield should be more... erh.. round :p if you catch my drift.. ;)

I think that's about it in terms of what really needs "fixing" ;)
Otherwise you could also make the helmet a part of the head, or the other way around... I find that having them separate usually isn't a great idea, but that's on my models at least :p

otherwise, great job ;)

for the spear you want a more "leaf" shaped type thing like wider and such for the head and get rid of the "hilt"?
and not exactly sure what you mean by more round but im sure i can just make a cylinder and put it on if it pleases you.
Edit: hows this?

Nice work TBG, looks like it should work well in game.

Lauri means your shield is too flat. Compare it to the reference picture.

Well if you can allign the shield so its facing up, down, or sideways you can manually grab the vertices and slide them around to make the shields shape better, If its too hard you can alternativly make it again from scratch ising a cylinder

Height segments 1
Cap segments about 3-5
sides about 18-24 should do.

And manually edit its shape from thier.

Cone shape?
Actually the outcome would be more like a bowl shape

I'd make it bulge a little more to look more similar to the reference, but it's not bad.

I agree with Lauri's point about the helmet, so you could consider that.
