I'll start this with the first 2 faction chosen as well as BFME2 being the chosen game.

Next the first assignments are up.
They are simple, they are for 2d Art and Concepts.
We need icons for the 2 factions and some Concept art.
So check out the assignments and if you are interested be sure to post.

Darn, I won't be able to do much then. I sold my BFME 2 last week.

The viking icon could be an axe, while the greek icon should have something to do with the mythology, imo. A lightning bolt?

I was thinking a boat for the vikings. From the side view. Kinda like the Dol Amroth symbol.

I think that would symbolize them more. It would be very recognizable at a glance. "Oh, that's Vikings"

Personally, the easiest, most recognizable symbol of the Vikings to me is a helmet with horns. But don't do that, it isn't historically accurate at all.

Yes, that was actually the first thing I thought of.

IMO the icon for vikings should be something like these (old norse artwork):

... a star shines on the hour of our meeting ...

I think that would look weird on a 24x24 icon.

That's definitely not good. That small, you can't even tell what they are!

That should probably go else try the concept art topic in the dev forum.

An announcement:I have set up the Big file for this project.
So coders can download it and start working on it.

It can be found in the coding assignments topic in the Dev forum.
Be sure to read the post before downloading it.

The artwork I posted were indeed just meant as concept art, the 'dragon' or 'serpent' motif being very important in old Norse culture: on the front of ships, on the top of roofs, and on most of the jewelery, which the Vikings were very fond of! :p
