Well, It might be a little early for this.

Anyways, I'm gonna get a new lapton and I'd like to be able to play SC2 on it, at least on lowest setting without lag, or with limited lag. What do you guys suggest?

Of course, myself being an 2d artist/skinner, if I'm gonna mod it (which I likely will,) I'd like to be able to run with high texture detail and the like.

Though, the texture detail hardly seems to make a difference in the performance for me, mostly, like on BFME, It doesn't really lag any more. It's mostly the polys and particles that do it, I think.

It's never early to talk about system requirements, that's actually one of the first things asked when Blizzard announced it, and probably most games nowadays, with a lot of people frankly 'scared' of system requirements just in case it doesn't match their own computers.

Blizzard has been known to always make sure it fits all levels of computers to make sure it doesn't limit the market of gamers. The system specs should be quite broad for this game, but they have not released any sort of system requirements as of this moment. I should suspect if you go for what is the 'norm' right about now, then you should be fine. Although you'll need to budget correctly, the norm for about now for would be:

Dual Core on or above 2.2Ghz
3-4GB DDR2 Ram
250GB Hard Drive (Partitioned or not, my HD has 320 GB total, with 300GB and the 20GB partitioned)
Minimum of 256MB Graphics Card

That's the norm at the moment, and as the game is in beta stages I doubt they will raise the textures of the game to any higher. So I'd say you'd be safe going for the minimum of those specs, of course you'd buy your own Hard Drive as that won't really effect game performance unless you get a really slow 8GB one made in the early 90's lol.

Hope that helped!

3-4GB of RAM. Your having a laugh.

Lasted on 1GB (XP) for the last 3 years. Only just now bought a new comp, but I wouldnt say average is 3-4GB.

I'd disagree too. And remember that this game is also going to work on the Mac, so the minimum will be lower than a normal game (that and Blizzard likes to be nice to people).

I only have around 1 GB of RAM, so I'm hoping that 3-4 isn't needed. OmegaBolt reassured me... somewhat. :thumbsupsmiley:

Yeah... I have 2 currently. Not a problem for most of the older games I play. Haven't played a new PC game in quite some time.

My main hard drive is 80... however, my external hard drive, which I use for all non-LotR games, is 232 GB. :thumbsupsmiley:

I have 2 hard drives, both internal. Main 56, 2nd 20. I keep all my various files on my secondary, and my games and programs installed on my main. :thumbsupsmiley:

Well I'm just looking at what is being offered currently on the market trying to perceive what is a 'decent' and average buy not what we already have, that's what I believe the gentleman was asking for :thumbsupsmiley:

If you look at what is on the market it's what I have just mentioned, and for now you can get deals and special offers, esp. in the summer, however if SC2 will be released in November-December, you could hold out for a Christmas deal and get something better for cheaper.

You probably should assume I'm a gentleman...

Anywhoo, my new laptop is already ordered... Erm, wish I had the url to show you. I think it was something like Dual core 2.4, 3g ram and 160 hard drive... Don't remember the rest. I think it was a good deal though, only about $750 new. Lenovo, btw.

IDK, it'll work for my purposes. I'm not a graphics freak, I just like my textures... And being able to see my textures in the game.
