So here's the deal: when Nowe left we agreed to let him keep the name RPG Frontier for the new place, as you all doubtless know. Naturally the repercussions of this are that we here at Revora have to change the name to something else. Us staff have been throwing around a few ideas with very little conclusiveness so I thought I'd be democratic about it and see what you lot think
Hence poll. Please all vote for something. If Other do go ahead and define what you think might be good.

PS, Already given variants on numbers 2 and 3 include: RP(G) Hub, Collective, Port, Clan, Guild, Elements, Unbound, Revolution. Feel free to add to that list if you must.
Of course I don't look busy; I did it right the first time.
Ever stop to think and forget to start again?

Good to see you stuck to your guns, FZM. Although technically they were my guns... This metaphor isn't really working, especially because I've never heard of a ziggurat with guns of any sort.

It was RPG Guild.

I have to say I'm against the majority here - Zig of Doom just doesn't seem to say "RPers COME HERE!!!!!!!" to me. It says "WTF is this Shit?"

But I mean, whatever, if it's what you guys want...

I feel the same as you.

I think not only does it sound stupid/childish (sorry, but it does) but also for some reason it gives me the impression of arrogance. A kind of "look at us, we think we're better then you because we are more articulate in the english language", a distinctly unfriendly kind of feel of looking down at new comers who may not be as knowledgeable as us and not know what a ziggurat is.

Weird i know but that's the vibe i pick up from it. :shiftee2:
Also a ziggurat has nothing to do with anything at all related to the RPG frontier, adding another level of, i guess as copa said:

"WTF is this Shit?"

Yeah, we weren't just planning to leave it at that and let people guess. We thought it conveyed nicely the level of not-taking-things-too-seriously that we like around here, as well as articulate and interesting writing styles which we also support, and the subtitle makes it clear what this actually is. It also clearly shows what kind of writing goes on in here: fantasy. And sometimes science fiction and the like, but it's all pretty standard fiction, the difference being it's collaborative rather than just some dude writing a story.

We could throw in a little description if it'd make you feel better. Besides which, FZM was rather enamoured of the idea of being leader of somewhere called The Ziggurat of Doom. :shiftee2:

@ SWG: who doesn't know what a ziggurat is? It's hardly arcane. Maybe the Polyandrion of Doom might be pushing it, or the Ossuary of Eternal Fancy (I also quite like that, but whatever.) But ziggurats are rather well-known as tombs go.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

OK gents, it appears that the official consensus (sorry Copa) is for the Ziggurat of Doom. Is that OK? 'Cos I don't wanna go changing things without your say so seeing as without you lot it'd be a very lonely ziggurat :crazed:

Basically it's just Copaman and FZM... Oh, and DLotS, if you see this, can you remove Byakuya Kuchiki's name from the forum link in the main network section? For some reason it's still there, and he is no longer affiliated with Revora.

Not that it adds anything, but I think the name "Ziggurat of Doom" has nothing to do with the contents of this section.
Ziggurat of doom seems like an ancient device to destroy civilizations, not a RPG-forum :w00t:

But as I've already said, I'm a newbie and my voice will not be heard.

Amen...
