I'm going to be gone for awhile, as my grades are "less than impressive" in the eyes of my parents. Something to do with a "lack of effort," and "an inordinate amount of time spent on the computer." If my grades improve, I'll be back on sooner. If they don't... well, maybe they'll realize that Revora had nothing to do with it.

Later, all.

Good luck convincing your parents of the latter. We won't be going anywhere in the meantime. Just wait until you live on your own. :)

Can you use the computers at school? That's what I've resorted to for the past 4 years. I still do... rare is the chance to post at home, and even then, it's through a secretly installed browser :)

Wow, Athos! You sure made certain that quite a few places here and on WoA know that you are not going to be gone forever! :) Good luck to you! :p

@ Copa: Nein... the school computers have ridiculous amounts of Websensing on them. There's even an "uncategorized" category. "Message Boards and Forums" is at the top of their blacklist. :thumbsupsmiley:

@ Mirk: Oh, that was just in case I did end up randomly disappearing. I just have to be more careful about coming into the house and sitting down at the computer without asking permission. :xcahik_:

Dude, be smart about it. There's not a school firewall I've ever heard of that deals with proxies. I'm sure you're tech-savvy enough to figure that lot out.

What schools have you been hearing about?

At my school i swear that any webpage that even contains the word 'proxy' is blocked. i know that even the wikipedia article on proxies is blocked, and every proxy site anyone has ever tried. A whole load of sites are blocked out, trying to find useful resources for your school work is a pain in the ass when you can't even get onto sites you need about the subject.

But my school doesn't have revora blocked, or some other random sites(but all the good stuff is blocked for the most part). Although it seems that when you go onto some places the next time you try its blocked. Maybe they monitor and block anything that they see you on that they didn't know about before. Like games...

Huh. Well, maybe Aussie firewalls are better than English ones. Or maybe they've updated everywhere since I was at school. It has been a couple of years now... Our university computers are great, though. You can watch porn on them if you want, let alone check up on forums.

My school has been intelligent enough to ban any google search with the word "proxy" in it. Which is useless because I can name three proxies off the top of my head that work. I wonder how much money we waste every year buying filters that anybody can get around?
