As the title says. This division of Revora gets very little activity. This creative division of Revora gets little activity. Revora is of course, a creative community.

'Signature shops' and userbar requests just doesn't cut it for me. I'd like to see more creative individuals troll these boards.

How could we as a community make this division more active?

With a creative idea?

I've got none, though. I was looking into picking up my writing again with some lame humouristic series, though it was a tad too lame.
It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren't being raped. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP

Well you never know until you get feedback. Expand it, present it, develop it. Go for it!

Increase awareness among the members. I personally feel like the Creative regions of Revora should be advertised to the membership through global news posts and announcements - show off our RPs, discussions, graphics guys. Encourage versatility and intelligence among them.

Does anyone know one of those sites that lets you upload files and have multiple people edit them in real time? If there's a free one available, we could do some sort of joint story project with it.

Basically, depending on how many people signed up, everyone would get 2-4 dates every month when they had the option of writing a thousand words or so (or more/less, whatever) to add on to our continuing story. If they didn't feel like it or didn't have time on a particular day, no problem, the next person can just carry on. The story could follow one character or multiple, and the genre/subject matter could either be picked by vote or Vort.

So it's similar to an RP I guess, but still a little different. Idk, it's the best I could think of off the top of my head :p

The only graphical stuff I do is for mods, such as loading screens etc... so not really worthy of going into the creative section separately. I don't write much either though would always like to, I just get bored. I also just hate the look of MS Office, so if there are any other nice alternatives let me know.

The joint story sounds like a fun idea, but we should have someone 'guiding' the story in the right direction then, of course. Otherwise it just won't work.

Art contest sounds like a decent plan to me. We've had writing contests before, but they generally only get 5 or 6 entries, and one of the regulars has now left Revora, so there we have it. I'd be up for judging an art competition.

As for this collaborative story thing, I've never heard of these websites that 'allow multiple real-time edits'. But if we can figure something out along those lines, I'd be happy to guide it in a certain direction. Could be kinda fun.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

We had art contests as well, but they didn't work well either.

Perhaps we just need to go about publicising them a bit better. Maybe see if we can find some incentive other than simple pride.

The problem around is that people aren't too...interested in this.

Just a contest won't bring up people.

Maybe its the tutorial section which is empty?

I was thinking,should I try making a colorization tutorial?

Go for it. As you've noticed I've been making tutorials and will continue to do so with the hope that it'll spark inspiration within people and get them opening Photoshop/GIMP/MS Fucking Paint.

It has been agreed by many that the creative section should be involved in network news so I imagine that will be put into play soon. I've got high hopes that activity is already starting to increase and shall hopefully continue, so thanks to everyone getting involved so far :D

with regards to yodas story idea it would be possible to essentially rip off a wiki, that is a web page any can edit or alter like wikipedia, then tack on authentication to restrict access to those with legitimate logins and with a low key database youve got a story board. it wouldnt take much work for anyone who knows their way around a web server.  unless of course realtime collaboration is what you want in which case i point you towards Microsoft sharepoint or indeed the office 2010 beta, which features inbuilt word collaboration iirc

Well.

I came up with several ideas.

For graphic guys:

-Tutorials of different effects and shit.

For writers:

-Stuff like "what to avoid when composing shit" or such.Basically a n00b's guide to knowing what he's/he should be doing.(Really,no idea on what to do here >.<)

For musicians:

-List of DAWs
-Tutorials with stuff on these DAWs.

I can't see more stuff that can be done here.
