Hi Everyone,

How does everyone think that 'armageddon' (end of the world) is going to happen. Nostradamus predicted that the apocalypse in 2012 so we need to be prepared. I personally think that the earth will get so hot (global warming) that it will just shrivel up and burst into flames. If that's the case we need to coat ourselves in fireproof suits.

But there are many other possibilities:

• Extreme warfare
• Meteroites (it eliminated the dinosaurs, why not the human race)
• And just an unatural, completely random explosion

So, what do you think? Anything could happen really, I suppose even an alien invasion is possible, but that's unlikely.

You do realize that global warming is a myth, right?

Anyway, I think that political correctness will grow so big, that noone will be able to do anything anymore without politely asking permission first. You know, it could offend someone. Ultimately, in 2012 the Earth will destroy itself. You know, it could run the risk of running into an asteroid and destroy it. And that wouldn't be very nice now, would it?

Nono, I'm talking about the Earth destroying itself, because it doesn't want to hit the asteroid. You know, asteroids have feelings too, and you don't want to offend those by colliding with it.

And if the Earth gets destroyed within my lifetime... Well, whatever. At least it was worth it. I think.

If Earth exsited for hundreds of millions of years. Billions? Who are we to say, being a race that has only existed for a couple hundred thousand years, that we know when, and/or how the Earth will be destroyed. How can a few silly predictions possibly be regarded as true?

Who gives a shit? If it doesn't happen, then nothing happened. If it does, we're hardly going to be around to complain about it. And if we are, then fuck, but it ain't much of an apocalypse in my book. Unless you happen to be named either Lif or Lifthrasir, I wouldn't rate your chances.

By the way, 2012 is the the apocalypse by the Mayan long calendar, not by the prophecies of Nostradamus. Nostradamus was a wackjob Frenchman who decided he could see the future one day. Nothing he said should be regarded as noteworthy.

P.S. You shouldn't really refer to it as 'armageddon'. That's a purely Christian term, referring to the town of Armageddon whereat a great battle will be fought between Christ and the Antichrist. It doesn't actually mean the apocalypse.

And since we've been around for such a short amount of time we can't possibly imagine the sort of things that could happen, we've experienced so little. Saying it won't happen is just as silly as saying it will happen. There have been cataclysmic (for life on the planet) events in the past, and there will surely be again.
